“What a great experience. Staff was very accommodating and extremely friendly. It was a Friday night and was very busy but everyone was well taken care of by the bartenders and the wait Staff. I think I found a new go to place. The food was very good and very well priced. I would give it a 10 out of 10.“
“Cockroaches? That last reviewer is full of it - there aren't any cockroaches in Northern Wisconsin. I've eaten there and think the place (and the food) is great - plus a great fun staff and live music! But don't take my word for it, go check it out for yourself.“
“My boyfriend and I came here randomly without really any thought, and the food/experience/service we received was without a doubt, the most caring and customer-service friendly thing we've seen at restauraunts (or anywhere for that matter) nowadays. It's a very calm and cozy place, and the employees are incredibly generous, friendly, and understanding. Even though there were a few mistakes in the order getting placed/prepared, the employees not only owned up to the mistake but went above and beyond/out of their way to fix it despite us not being bothered at all. The food itself is amazing and exactly what you'd hope for a nice small-town bar and grill. It feels like you're at home here. They also got darts and pool!“
“Went to Max's for an early Saturday dinner while celebrating special events. Seated immediately and the setting/vibe is very nice. Nicely decorated, wood floors, tin ceiling. Friendly capable service from bartender/host/wait staff. We did not feel rushed which was great. I had the jalapeño margarita and it was great. Our water glasses were kept filled and dishes removed promptly from table when we were done with them. The chips and salsa were good and replenished when we requested. The cheese dip was disappointing. Lacked flavor. We did not get the chorizo in it as someone in our group was vegetarian. Maybe chorizo would have helped give it needed flavor? Entrees included buzo tacos with blackened mahi, vegetarian fajitas and swordfish with vegetables. Everything was tasty and filling. I thought the beans with my tacos were just ok. My husband loved the swordfish. After he placed his order for it, the server told him the price in menu was inaccurate due to market price. $4 more than what was on the menu. Best practice would be to have accurate price in the menu OR indicate it is market price (as was the case for the lobster entrees). Just providing constructive criticism. Overall, a fine place to dine. I will come again.“
“Good place to stop for a drink. Excellent Bloody Mary and didn't even have to ask for the beer chaser - they just asked me what I wanted for it. Would not necessarily recommend for food only because the menu is very limited. If you're looking for a quick burger or pizza then it would be fine. Can't comment onGon the quality of food assas wedwe didn't eat.here. Decent outdoor seating area. Very casual, clean bar. The bathroom doors are interesting - they are hobbit-like. My husband is 6 ft 4 and had to duck quite a bit to get in. The bathroom itself does have higher ceilings. LOL“
“The bartender Jamie is always super friendly and sweet, and very on-the-ball. She introduced me to my favorite bar drink EVER -- a dill aquavit gimlet ‐‐ and even though I only come into town every few months, she remembers who I am. Very clean place. Highly recommend!“
“Honestly I went ice fishing on the lake and came in in winter gear and everyone was so friendly and polite. The bar tender was super cool and wouldn't accept a tip. Everyone wished me and my buddy luck with the fishing and gave us good tips for spots to hit and told us some fishing stories. Would definitely go again. Very reasonably priced food and drinks.“
“Stopped in for a few this weekend heading back Cornell, and let me tell you Devin “the seltzer” speltz (owner?) is a wizard behind the bar! Pours em right and he sure knows how to listen. Finest tavern in the north woods, sad to be leaving back up to Cornell but will be back. Thanks Dev you sure know how to treat a man right ?“
“Recently reopened after renovation, the menu is limited but delicious. Prices are reasonable and the owner provides friendly service. One caution, transactions are cash only and there is an ATM on site. Packer memorabilia decorate the walls and several large screen televisions offer a variety to view. Perfect for short order meals and drinks to wash it down. I recommend the hangover burger basket paired with a bloody Mary.“
“Amazing establishment. If you're looking for that hole in the wall bar, look no further. The beer is cold and the bartender is on fire with the sass. Abby is tops. She'll make a great paramedic. The bonus hole game is the only reason to live, that and the Old Mill they keep stocked fresh in a bottle.“
“Shady Pine, pretty divey but in the best way. The waitress was cool and opened up just a little early for our group of bikers. If you can find the place stop in and play "Find the MotoMutz stickers" It's kind of hidden away but they have a nice deck and a pool table and the stories it could tell would amaze a person.“
“Bartender was right there to serve drinks, no wait at all, great selection of drinks. And of course we all know in Wisconsin the term dive bar is a term of endearment and it fits right in Lafayette, and Wisconsin in general, an absolute cultural staple.“
“I'm a fan of "off the beaten path" and this place is a gem. Longest running bar in Chippewa County. Stopped in for a quick bite and that's what we got...and it was delicious! The owner even stopped out to say Hi...just awesome people.“
“We held my dad's celebration of life at the Brown Hut, because it was among his favorite bars. The event was an epic party that couldn't have honored him better, the food was amazing, and the bar even accommodated a band on the fly. Great bar, great people, and perfect for a mid sized gathering.“
“I've been coming to this establishment most of my life. Seen all the changes. It's a beautiful place. The bar top is truly one of a kind. Very calm setting and all around a fun environment. Great customers, great staff! I'm glad to say I'm one of the owners.“
“All of the employees at the brewery go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It's fun to share my love of beer with kindred spirits. (Michelle), Lynn, Matt, and the two women working pouring beer that afternoon. Were just absolutely joyed to deal with. I make it a point to return for the tour because it seems like I always learned something new. Thanks to (Michelle), my tour guide, this trip was no exception.“
