Got in around 9:30 on a Saturday morning. First time visit. Was busy, but was greeted fairly quickly by a nice young lady and told 5 minute wait. Some others came in the door shortly after me, she asked them how many and scurried away I think to clean tables. As the whole lot of us waited another waitress came up, grabbed that group ahead of my husband and me and sat them in a booth and then proceeded to ask us how many. Really? As she sat that group ahead of us, the nice young gal was telling her that we were ahead of them. After that I saw a few others seated ahead of people that had arrived before them . Seems as though is you’re a regular at Nicks there may preferred treatment. We then sat and waited to be waited on. Finally, 15 minutes later we got our order in. A couple that were sat several minutes after us but were regulars got their food ahead of us and were near done by the time we got our food. Food was good, but service left a very sour taste. Doubt I’ll return which is unfortunate because I often drive distances for good food and service.

Was busy, we waited 20 minutes while there was an empty table available. Had to ask why it was empty. Ordered the dinner special and it was very disappointing. Small portions and not particularly good. A large wait staff that was not attentive to the customers. Had to wait 15 minutes for the bill after it was obvious we were done.

A cozy and comfortable place on the main drag through town. They have a nice menu selection, and we had a variety of breakfasts in our group. I felt the ham on the Eggs Benedict was a little chewy and rubbery, but their sausage gravy had a nice, peppery flavor. Overall it's a breakfast you can get about anywhere, but it was a nice break away from the crowds in Galena.

The breakfast that I had needed to be hotter when I was served. The flavor of everything was good, but the American Fries were barely lukewarm, and the toast was almost like warmed up bread, barely toasted.

Always love it here. Awesome food staff an price. Never leave hungry try country fried steak and eggs for breakfast you won't regret it but you better be hungry. Also very clean nice bathrooms.Kid-friendliness: Kids have always been welcome even when they were have a less than steller behavior as most hit at one point or another.

Stopped by yesterday and Pam was my waitress. Never been there before but very inviting. Friendly atmosphere had a meat skillet. Lots of food got a to go box and had enough for lunch. I recommend Nick's very much so. Thank you Pam you do your job well.
