I had a very good dining experience here last night. Service was prompt and accurate. Food was outstanding and presented beautifully. We had a very great first experience and will definitely return!

Beautiful restaurant, fantastic view. The food was very good, and the cappuccino was delicious. The three egg omelette was definitely not a three egg omelette and was quite small, but tasty. The biscuits and gravy had great flavor. About $30 a person for breakfast w tip so it's a bit expensive for eggs and coffee, but we enjoyed our experience.

We did the igloo experience and it was great! Outstanding food! Beautiful night! Gorgeous views! Sweet and romantic! Very happy! Worth it! Best Tomahawk Pork Chop I've ever had! Would definitely come back!

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary here. We dined in one the igloos. The temperature was comfortable. The food was delicious. Our server Emily was attentive and made some great recommendations for us. All the staff here was friendly . Great experience. Highly recommend!

We had a very nice time and our server was nice and polite, if somewhat ineffectual. Long waits between courses of their special very limited Valentine's Day menu. Bread was very bland and no bread plates were brought so we had to wait for the appetizer to show up before trying the bread. Other nearby tables received a sauce to go with the surf and turf for the lobster; we did not. While our server was nice, she wasn't available enough to correct her mistakes on the plating and sauce. The food was still good, albeit the steak was overdone but fortunately still tender. The dessert was excellent, although we may have been the last patrons to get it as they ran out. Clearly poor planning of management of staffing necessary and materials necessary. Yet the pricing was significantly higher than similar meals from better restaurants. Hence the value proposition wasn't good. We rolled with the punches and had fun anyway.

Cool dining area with big windows overlooking lake. Super friendly server and unique cocktails. Deelish food for example the delicately flavored pork baonbun appetizer and fantastic walleye with a perfect lightly salt touched sear. We're going back for more!

Excellent meal ! I had the walleye and my husband had the squash risotto. The walleye was the clear winner ! Mild flakey fish , pan seared on one side only which was perfect. It was very quiet only 6 tables dining on this weekday evening. We had a window seat and the atmosphere was relaxed and beautiful. Emily our server was friendly and very attentive. The renovations being done at lake Lawn were impressive.

Beautiful place, great view. I feel it would be more enjoyable during summer. We are staying a couple miles from the resort but we enjoyed a quiet lunch with a nice view. Only sad part was that they didn't have available the dessert we wanted to share the cast iron apple something. Overall quality of the food and price was worth it.

Took me right back to 1986. I did miss the ham on the carving table and was really looking forward to the pumpkin pie, but I also understand that times change. One thing that did not change was the fantastic food. When you put out a spread that impressed an 87 year old, you can be assured that it was a great experience had by all of us.

Food was delicious, a little pricey but it was NYE. Our server was a little bit absent minded and made several errors, from drinks, to no rolls, to charging us for the wrong drinks and a buffet dinner which wasn't even an option. Then we asked her to divide the bill in half, she did that wrong. I feel that when you spend $400.00 for a dinner you want great service.

Visited on New Years Eve. Initial greeting was great and seated on time. Server began the night with an awkward joke. Never served bread. Had to be asked for a water refill. Appetizer was a crab bisque. Terrible. We are only a few bites. We both ordered the surf and the medium rare. It was served to us so raw it was inedible. They took it back to heat more and then served it to us medium well. At this point we asked to just pay for our wine and leave. The manager did pick up our wine but very dissappinting at 8:30 new years evening.

The food was very good. The ambiance was also very nice. The wait staff was easily overwhelmed so most people were patient. But it took about 15 min to get a drink and longer for food. It was the holiday season so maybe most staff was gone but they shouldn't have accepted soo many tables etc. The food was great though, they just brought all if it together, apps included.

A busy Saturday before the New Years celebrations. I can understand the difficulty in staffing. Was a hectic night for our server. She held a positive attitude and apologized for a few hiccups in service and delivery. Overall, the experience was good. Cadence, temperature and presentation was nice. We always enjoy a meal at 1878. I hope someday staffing will return to make life easier and better for our servers.

We arrived early and had a cocktail in the bar. Drinks were pricey. Didn't care for the restaurant atmosphere. It was newly remodeled and frankly we loved the previous decor hands down. The restaurant was busy but not overly busy with plenty of empty tables and yet it took our server 10 minutes to acknowledge our presence even though she passed us several times. From the time we were seated to the time we received our meals it was over an hour. Our server came back only one time to check on us and the next time was when my wife flagged her down for the bill. Menu choices were limited in my opinion and the dinner entree choices were expensive. Things appeared a la carte and the food was good but not excellent or outstanding. We loved the previous menu before the restaurant was revamped. The bar though a little pricey has a nice feel and we would likely patronize that but for the restaurant, I don't think we'll be back for dinner.

We did the igloo experience which is what saved this meal. The food was way over salted. The two appetizers we ordered had run out (it was 7pm). And they only had 2 of the 4 or 5 desserts (it was a birthday dinner for my kids). The server was attentive and felt bad for the lack of choices. Would not return for dinner.
