“We were in the area for the weekend and decided to stop after reading the reviews and it did not disappoint! The service was great, the food was great, the prices were great and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. No one left hungry and we will definitely make the drive again. If you are looking for a unique place to go this is it!“

“We found this spot while camping nearby at Governor Dodge State Park. It's a nice local pub/bar, with several interesting beers on tap. Although the only food that they have is frozen pizza, the proprietor offered us the opportunity to order carryout from the Corrallejo Mexican Grill (it's just down the hallway from his restrooms in the same building) and then enjoy it in his establishment. He said that he no longer offered food as he was leasing his kitchen out to the restaurant. The Mexican restaurant recently opened and had a long wait list, so this was a perfect option. I think that Dukes is more than just your typical local corner tap with a lot of potential for a good time and interesting conversations. We really enjoyed our time there!“

“I’ve seen comments about the owner being rude or short. Hard disagree! As a Bostonian, I just found her honest, and efficient with her sentences ?. Definitely countercultural to the Midwest though. She knows that her place is great, and she doesn’t need to prove it! She’s the only one working. Serving drinks, cooking, cleaning tables, waiting. Honestly impressed. Burgers are amazing, but the broccoli bites were incredible. Super cheap too. Cool atmosphere. Definitely a great place to stop!“
