Great place. We often recommend. This time, they weren't super attentive. Two of us were waiting for water for a while.

Crispy deviled eggs here are a favorite! Service was good & entrees decent sized. They have a decent amount of space, wasn't too noisy.

Food was subpar and sent it back because it was barely room temp. The curtain to prevent cold air coming into the front door was never closed so it was very cold and unenjoyable. If you want crappy food and a place where management doesn't care about detail, go here.

Terrible service. We arrived prior to opening time and were the first people in the door at 5:00. It took almost two hours to get through dinner and that was after we had to go to the bar to beg for a bill. One of our meals was inedible- the sauce was extremely bitter. We told them the concern and they said ok thanks for telling me. It was the worst meal I have had in a long time, and by far the worst service I have had in years. Will NEVER return.

When I exited this restaurant, it was almost freezing outside, and yet I still felt more warmth than the hospitality I was shown at the bar. The restaurant may be Stella, but the hospitality wasn't.When I was asked to sit at the bar because they were booked up with reservations, I was fine with that, although I did really want a table because I don't like bars.My crime was proceeding to approach my seat from the side near where the drinks are set out. Instead of being given the benefit of the doubt, I was called out in a sharp tone for blocking the drinks area when all I was trying to do was slide my seat from the side to not crowd the people seated next to me.The sharp tone evoked my abrupt response that I wasn't trying to sit in that spot. Then I asked for a menu and was told the large group around me had priority, and it could be 1/2 hour before I could order.I said I would wait and was served my food much sooner. While waiting, I observed the friendly interactions between the bartender and the couple seated next to me.This made me wonder what was wrong with me. I did not feel welcome at this establishment, and I had done nothing to deserve it. I spent $30 on a meal while trying to have a nice night out.Hope it was a one off.

Honestly some of the worst food I've ever eaten. The cornbread tasted like yellow box cake that had too much milk in it, so it was mushy and dense. The gumbo was completely inedible. It tasted like I was eating spoonfuls of flour, so the roux was clearly botched and undercooked. The gumbo had the consistency of etouffe, which explains the flour. The French bread was good and the only thing I actually ate. Server was friendly, but hadn't tried any of the food, which should have signaled us to leave. On top of waiting for over an hour for the food, the gumbo was $27 and the worst and most expensive gumbo I've had in my entire life. Avoid this place, as every other EC restaurant I've been to has been leaps and bounds better (and cheaper).

Great southern atmosphere.

Legit cajun food north of the cornbelt. I had the shrimp and grits. Spice is noticeable and there is a generous topping of forward flavoring red peppers and tomatoes. Really nom but the grits were subtle under all the flavor.I took a gumbo home cuz I couldn’t decide between the two.Definitely recommend! Each entree is around $22-26. Worth it!!

Always good! The food is authentic and delicious. Feels like the best homemade southern cooking. If you like southern food, you won't be disappointed by any of the wonderful classics on the menu! Cocktails are affordable, unique, and really well done! Waitstaff and service is fantastic as well.

We were sat by the hostess and left after 15 minutes of being blatantly ignored by the waitress in our section. We weren't given water or even acknowledged during the time we sat. Menus were folded up in front of us because we had plenty of time to decide on the drinks, apps, and entrees we weren't going to be served.I've eaten here a half dozen times before and never had service near this non-existent, but the service has never been what I would call "good".As for the food, it's subpar Cajun food. Decent for Eau Claire, WI, but not even close to exceptional. As their menu says, "the only Cajun food in Eau Claire". Apparently, they're banking on being the only game in town to keep people coming in.

I can't even give a review of the food because we sat and waited for 20 minutes while 2 to 3 servers walked by us and ignored our existence. Didn't even make eye contact. Terrible service.

While traveling, looked ahead and found this wonderful quaint place. From the first touch which was a phone call answered by Linda to check on seating for our anticipated arrival time we were welcomed with open arms. When we arrived I gave my name and she repeated it and said, I'm Linda I've got your table. Liz was our waitress that was on spot to check on us and make sure we were never without. I had the best Old Fashion ! My husband had the sweet bourbon pasta with shrimp. I had blackened catfish. We tried the beet salad and the Cajun crab dip. We highly recommend Stella Blues. Both Linda and Liz told us the food wait was at least one half hour very apologetically. I don't know about the rest of you, but in today's world one half hour is not a wait. We felt relaxed and we'll cared for. When I get back to Eau Claire I will be here again. You should too!

Amazing food, lovely service, they had country music on instead of blues. Other than that, it was a perfect anniversary dinner.
