Kudos to Brian for helping me with a mail order to Texas. It was my son-in-law's birthday, and he loves nothing more than Chili John's (except for my daughter, of course) so I called Brian, and he obliged me to pack up a couple quarts of meat sauce in safe shipping containers and send them off to Dallas. Though I paid for overnight, they arrived two days later, but Zach's still a happy birthday boy.

Last month I got a bowl of chili and a bowl of booyah for take-out. I think this was the first time I ever had Chili John's and I love chili. I drained 1/2 inch of grease off and tried to stomach the chili. I was ill within an hour and couldn't eat for 24 hours. I have never had a problem tolerating spicy food. The flavor was odd. I did call to mention that I felt something was off about the chili. She was nice and stated she will mention to cook. Then my husband the next day tried a spoonful of the booyah and it was rancid. I thought it smelled odd when I initially brought it home but thought it was a certain spice that was used.

Since the new owners took this order place over it has really gone down hill - which is unfortunate because of the long history of the business.Today was a new low as their listing says they are open and of course I drove all the way out to their “new” remote location and they were closed.

Drove to the new location on 5 separate occasions and each time they were closed during normal business hours. Finally caught them open and ordered a quart of chili to go. Got home to discover it was a quart of spaghetti noddles with a 1/2 regular bowl serving of meat. What a joke. I returned to the store to show them what I had received. The waitress said that’s the way we do it now. I returned food. A terrible location and now a terrible product. The new owners have destroyed an iconic brand. Go to festival foods and ask for the “bowl of red” chili seasoning; follow the directions exactly. It’s chili John’s.

Very disappointed, having grown up with CJ's from downtown to Military to now, seems that quality of product, service, and ambiance have diminished to the extent that CJ's is now unrecognizable and inedible. OMG was it bad, chili cold and needed nuked, no beverages other than regular Pepsi, rude service, the famous taste of the chili gone, we were overcharged, and the etc's were numerous. Will never be back, my homemade version of the chili outshines the junk this place is now serving.

Chilli John’s is no more. The product is no where near the original. Huge amount of spaghetti accompanied by an inadequate serving of meat.A teaspoon rather than a soup spoon. Really?Restaurant layout not inviting and sparse. Location? Inconvenient. The brand along with this restaurant are both the walking dead.

Expected the original Chili John's recipe. This isn't that. What a shame it is to tie this to the original.

No where near Chili John'sI agree, not spicy . Asked for small amount of extra meat juice and was charged $3 for what amounted to 3 tablespoons of juice.I missed the old atmosphere and eating at the counter. They have a long way to go to be a true Chili Johns

It wasn't what I expected. My son thought it was that place that had different kinds of chili. As it turn out it was good kind of pricey.

Change your hours open!! I work at the casino side and potential customers not happy, like I can do something! I apologize and tell them hrs are cut and you are short staffed! Avoid all of it if you update your hrs open on website. Thank You
They were closed when the internet said they'd be open. New location is too far from HWY 29.

No longer Chili John's, it's now Chili J's. I can imagine that's because this place is an embarrassment to the name. This is obviously not the same recipe that we all know from Military Ave. It's close, but not quite. The Mild, Reg, Hot options seem to gone. Just Regular bowl or Super bowl. And honestly I'm not sure what the difference is, having ordered the regular and my friend ordered Super, they tasted the same. So you no longer have any heat options. Sad. Don't bother ordering with beans. You just get a blob of beans on the bottom, not mixed in with the chili meat, it seems like an afterthought. After writing this I'm now thinking giving it 3 stars might be generous.

Uses to lo e Chili John's! Stopped in tonight for some great chili. Door was open! A VEEY rude woman came out from the kitchen and said Don't you know we are closed!?! We sent our cook home early tonight. Umm...ok how would customers have known that?? Remember the door was open and hours stated open til 7! Love the chili but with service like that won't be eating it ever again!!

Saw on TV. Chilli looked fabulous so we tried it. Chilli was burnt, got sick later from the little I ate. 9.00 for a bowl of noodles with a thin layer of chilli was very bad. I could have done that at home for cheaper. There was black hair in my daughter's food, noticed after she had already eaten most of it. None of us had black hair by the way. Chicken was very dry. Not a good experience. We spent $82.00 for 5 people to eat. WILL NOT be back. We could have spent that much somewhere else and had way better food. However, waitress was super sweet.. she is the only reason I gave a 3 star. Otherwise I would have given a one star.
