Probably the most bland Mexican food I have ever had. The salsa tasted like it was made from canned tomatoes and everything needed a heaping pinch of salt to bring out the flavor more. Even the guacamole needed more salt. There's a reason this place was dead on a Saturday evening for sure.

On a mission to find the best chips and salsa, lime margarita, steak and chicken tacos. All are graded on a scale of 1-5Chips and salsa - No salt on chips. They give you a trio of salsas. The chunky one is jicama, cucumbers, tomatoes and pineapples. It was unique and fresh. The red salsa was a mild salsa with good flavor. The darker of the salsas was a little spicier with good flavor - 4Lime Margarita on the rocks - smaller in size but good. The margarita was half off today- 3Steak taco:Flavor - 3Fullness - 2 it was inconsistent between tacos.Appearance - 3 the meat was very fattyChicken taco:Flavor - 4Fullness - 3Appearance - 3Service - our server was nice. What a pleasant surprise! Hubby had the choripollo ($20) and I had the quesabirras ($15). The handmade (not from a mix) margaritas were half off so only $5 each; excellent and strooong. The vibe was great with a great staff and very authentic. The menu was really interesting with lots of special dishes. The meals we ordered were big enough to share and they brought fresh chips and a salsa trio to the table. We’ll definitely be back! (Total was $52.75 for the two meals and 3 margaritas). I wish on their extensive menu there was one excellent and unique vegetarian dish… something with avocado and some good authentic flavors.

For years we were fans of the restaurant which previously occupied the space which is now Tequilas Mexican Bar and Restaurant. That Mexican restaurant is now located on the far west side of Green Bay. Now that this new establishment is in the old location we decided to give it a try. Our overall impression was that they have done some needed remodeling, the atmosphere is nice, and the lighting has been improved, we could actually see our dinners. The service was courteous and prompt. This being a Mexican restaurant, we tried the house Margaritas, good but not great, they do have a number of other tequila based drinks which sounded interesting, but since it was a Tuesday evening and the Margaritas were half price we stuck with those for our first visit. As at all Mexican restaurants, there was chips and salsa to snack on while waiting for dinner. They had two salsas, both pretty good, and a chopped fruit & veggie dip also which we liked. I’m a fan of Chile Rellenos, so I ordered two of them. They were good, of course most of the flavor is based on the poblano peppers. I found that the batter which they use for coating the peppers was a bit thicker than I normally like, I believe that they use more flour in their batter than I would prefer. Some places put no sauce at all on the Chili Rellenos, Tequilas does put a red sauce on the Rellenos however I found this to be a rather bland sauce. I ended up adding what was left from the salsa on top of my Relleno. I was not at all impressed with the rather watery refried beans, which I thought had a bit of a funny taste to them. My wife had the Camarones al Tequila. This was a generous portion of shrimp with a tequila sauce, she said it was good. If I could give my point score out of 5 for this restaurant in partials I would rate it a 3.5 on the Tripadvisor scale. But I must go for whole numbers so will put a 4, although I think that is just a bit high. There were some good things about this and some not so good, the beans and rice that come with almost all dinners was, in my opinion, substandard. The main courses of each dinner were good but not great. Overall I would rate this as an only slightly above average establishment.
