“My wife and I LOVE Embe. Excellent food. Delicious soups, salads, and sandwiches. Oh, and I forgot to mention the bread pudding. Embe is a must stop on your Galena food stop! I highly recommend!“

“Best meal of my trip. This place has such a great vibe. I was there at about 4:30 on a Thurs. The music playing was such a great mix of Tony Bennett, Doris Day, then a song from a newer generation, yet the same feel. The employees were genuine. They were easy to talk to and knowledgeable. The food was simply perfect. I had sea bass followed by creme Brule. Excellent.“

“Hubby & I went out for supper last night at Louisburg Junction LLC. It was absolutely fabulous. The service was impeccable (y’all know how I drink water - my glass was NEVER empty). We were greeted by friendly bartenders, seated quickly to a table with ice water, silverware wrapped with fabric napkins and a freshly lit candle. Our waitress greeted us warmly, and perhaps a little shyly. It reminded me of how shy I was when I first started waitressing at the Towne House and how much I learned while working there. Being a service worker is such a valuable experience! But I digress, our waitress explained the specials, took our order and had a drink on our table before we got back from the salad bar.The salad bar was simple but tasty - Tim loved the pickled beets! And the buns….omg the buns!! They were amazing. So fresh and light! Sooooo good!!We ordered combo meals knowing that we would be taking food home but we wanted to try a few different items.Steak & Shrimp with Hashbrowns - *quick side note: almost everytime hubby orders steak he says “Why do I order steak, mine is better at home”. He did not say that this time! It was perfectly cooked with great flavor topped with crisp fried onion and tender fresh portobello mushrooms. The shrimp was lighted battered and delicious. Hashbrowns with cheese and onion crisp on the outside was a great side.Steak & 2 piece broasted chicken with baby reds potatoes - AMAZING. The onions and mushrooms only made this perfectly cooked steak more delicious. I honestly could have just eaten the onions and mushrooms! I only had a bite of the chicken because I was too full but it was good. A nice light batter and tender chicken. The baby reds were absolutely divine! Covered in garlic and oh so tasty!!Too too the meal off, I had to try their famous ice cream drink. The grasshopper was a great minty way to end this wonderful experience. We will be back!!“
“I had read review after review talking about how good the wings were here so I figured I'd make a point to check it out when I was in the area. I'm glad I did. Probably the best wings I've had. Perfectly fried and nice and big and meaty. The sauces are amazing as well. Go here and get your wings fix. You won't be disappointed“
“My wife enjoyed the seafood special The salmon on the menu was not as good. The Poblano Purée was kind of spicy to go with salmon and the plantain thing was dry and not very tasty. Our server Chris was excellent as always. I wish there was more than one seafood dish on the menu.“

“Galena is a fabulous place and it starts with the Desoto Hotel and the Courtyard Restaurant. A beautiful outdoor setting, along with a delicious breakfast to kick off the day!“
“Excellent food. We had steak, shrimp and catfish. A perfect Ol' Fashioned and Pink Squirrel. The service was excellent and the salad bar was full of homemade soups and top notch salad bar options. If you are looking for an old school supper club - take a drive to Hideaway Acres!! Delicious!“

“I had an excellent experience at Culvers in Galena. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a warm hello, and as I left, they thanked me for coming in.The place was packed and this team worked efficiently to serve every customer, and the cheerful atmosphere was contagious. My food was exactly as I had requested, and it was delicious. Thanks to this team of dedicated and friendly individuals for providing such a positive experience.“

“Definitely a classic supper club vibe - their old fashioned was fantastic and points for a classic relish tray. But wasn’t very impressed with the food. My steak wasn’t seasoned well and it was a bit too drab/quiet inside. Service was good though. Glad to check it out, but can’t see it being a regular trip.“
“On Feb 2nd we went there for dinner with our two kids. Our son has an allergy so we called ahead to make sure they could accommodate his dietary needs. The lady answering the phone and the guy who waited on us were great. They took our sons allergies very seriously and the cooks made our sons meal special to avoid any issues. We really appreciate the extra care they took.“

“Update: After dining at this restaurant again with a group of several dozen folks—and the management and staff of 3 Mile House doing a truly exceptional job—and very importantly, the food being absolutely delicious, I’ve decided changing my rating from 3 to 5 stars would reflect a more fair and accurate rating. Any restaurant (except perhaps a Michelin starred one) can provide a not-so-perfect experience once in a great while. Bottom line is that aside from the one disappointing evening I posted about below, this restaurant has served my husband and I several wonderfully delicious meals, and the five stars are deserved. We have been to 3 Mile House numerous times and have never been disappointed… until last Thursday. We brought my sister and her friend with to celebrate my husband’s birthday after boasting about how delicious their food was. I ordered an 8 oz filet, my sister ordered the fried chicken, and my sister’s companion and my husband ordered the 20 oz porterhouse special. The chicken, while small, was enjoyed. My filet had a piece of gristle running through it that I had to maneuver around—not a deal breaker but not great. However, the 20 oz porterhouse steaks were truly a disappointment. Thin, unevenly cut, a bit fatty and tough, but worst of all, pretty much tasteless. Even the tenderloin portion, saved for last, was uncommonly tasteless. Then, having previously dined there on our anniversary, I knew they provided a delicious celebratory, complimentary dessert. I was waiting for that for my husband. Instead, when we said we were finished, we just got the check! Now granted, the restaurant isn’t under any obligation to provide complimentary food items, however, we went there with expectations of having a delicious dinner—and I had in the back of my mind, a celebratory dessert to top the night off. Neither happened, and I left there kicking myself that we insisted on choosing 3 Mile House to bring our guests to that evening. We will probably go there again—their food has always been outstanding—but in the back of my mind, I’ll know that I can’t count on having that experience consistently, so will think twice before considering it as a place to take family and friends when they’re visiting; and that is really the disappointment.“
