Enjoy the service so much here. We had Sammy (apologize if spelled wrong) who is just spot on. Quick, available, check in, bill, refills just fantastic. Also, tables around us from another server noticibly checked in on, friendly and sincere.Food was great, we had a trio of meatballs and a funghi pizza. I had a Cab, Justin, that was fantastic and we enjoyed the atmosphere.Go, drink, eat, and enjoy downtown Janesville!

If you haven’t been to Genisa you definitely should. Besides having an amazing meal and wonderful drinks they also have special events you might want to try. We have gone to wine tastings and even a cocktail class that we would highly recommend. All the staff is pleasant and take great care of your needs. Please try it when in Janesville.

We weren’t expecting this - the board - the Tuscan old fashioned - the wine - the pork belly pizza - the mushroom risotto - incredible!!

Super fun cocktail class with Kris! We really enjoyed learning about the cocktails, how to make them, and tasting them. We will definitely be back for another class!

I attended the Old Fashioned class at Genisa last Sunday and loved it! It was an interactive class where we could ask questions and chat with the group. We learned how to make our own Old Fashioned while Kris, the bar manager, walked us through the history of the Old Fashioned. The drinks were all so good, but the Banana Fosters Old Fashioned really blew me away! I thought it would be too sweet for me but it was perfectly balanced. Kris is a really talented mixologist making innovative & delicious drinks!Genisa is my favorite spot in Janesville. I love all the different events they put on. Whether it's listening to live music on their beautiful patio, attending a wine dinner or cocktail class, it's always a great time. The staff is warm and welcoming so I always feel right at home. The food, cocktails and wine program are all outstanding! I am so excited for their new restaurant next door to open. I'm told the Banana Fosters Old Fashioned will be on the menu there and I can hardly wait!A heartfelt thank you to the Genisa family for all you do:)

Thoroughly enjoyed dining at Genisa's Wine Bar. The wine selections were excellent and affordable. The meatballs, lasagne and tiramisu were delicious and this is coming from a 2nd generation New York Italian! My friends and family will be back!

Always a fantastic experience with very helpful staff. Kris makes the best chocolate martinis and the sweater weather old fashioned is to die for. We went in for the Valentine’s Day special menu. It was great and we really loved the Beet risotto and carrots with goat cheese. It was a spin on their usual risotto, which is a favorite of ours. We’ve been coming here since they opened and have only had good experiences.Vegetarian options: The risotto is one of my favorite dishes. most of the pizza can be done vegetarian but the mushroom pizza is by default. They can do a cheese board for you instead of charcuterie if you’re vegetarian too, and have always been really accommodating with other dishes.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. The "host" was completely unreasonable and not helpful at all. I booked our reservation online, and the system inexplicably defaulted our 6:15p timeslots @ the "chef's counter". The host pointed out that the "chef's counter," was indicated in my email, and indeed the "chef's counter" language was buried at the bottom of my email confirmation. But the reservation system was not not intuitive or explicit at all, and the chef's counter was completely not fit for purpose for a party of three. It was clear others had encountered this issue previously, and there had obviously been no intent to rectify the lack of clarity about the low counter-type seating arrangement. The chef's counter is narrow, low to the ground, and extremely uncomfortable. Every server and patron brushes by and bumps your chair. Also, the food portions are ridiculously small and hugely overpriced. The charcuterie board has dried out cheese and greasy salami. Even the crustinies we're store bought, not made onsight. We ordered the sacilian pizza with sausage, and the main crust was raw. My wife said her side of the pizza was more cooked, but my side was mostly raw. And that screams of inconsistent preparation. Our friend ordered the butternut squash pizza, which was actually quite good (we tried it). The apple cobbler was also good (we tried that too).UPDATE: 20 minutes into our experience, the host offered to move us to a table, with a 50 minute time limit. We elected to stay out and finish the way we started. All in all, really disappointed. I would not recommend. We don't be back.

My husband and I have had two date nights here and we LOVE it. Amazing service (we had Josh the second time, so great!) and the food is so delicious. You can’t go wrong with any drink, appetizer, pizza or entree.
