My absolute favorite food is seafood. I love it all and was so excited about this food truck. I've visited multiple times because I wanted to keep trying different dishes. I would often have lunch when he used to park in front of Farm and Fleet. In the beginning it was pretty good. Over the years, the quality and service have absolutely tanked. Ordering on Eat Street was a nightmare. You had a one in ten chance that they would actually prepare your food. Most the time, I would hear nothing for an hour and then Eat Street would call and say they couldn't get ahold of him and had to cancel my order. Other times, I would see he was open on Facebook with instructions to call ahead for pickup. I would call and no one would ever answer. When we did get food, it started being very inconsistent. One day, the dish would come with a large portion and two sides, the next day the dish would be the tiniest scoop and no sides. I never knew what I was paying for. The last time we had a meal here was the worst. The food was cold, the meat was uncooked, and my husband found a wrapper in his soup. You could also witness the poor food care and handling while they prepared the food. The truck was always absolutely filthy. I know South Padre ended up closing up shop for awhile, but I guess he's back. It just seems like he doesn't really know what he's doing.

Sad to see a company be ani-mask, and even celebrating people not wearing masks! I don’t want you handling my food with that mindset. Disappointing to have to find a new favorite. ??♀️

Very good, excellent prices for the high quality seafood. I love the "seafood mac" which is really a lobster pasta (bow tie pasta not macaroni). The lobster and other seafood choices are seasoned with a Cajun style and the service is personable and prompt. Like so many small food businesses, looks like their reputation has suffered a little from unscrupulous third party delivery service - remember the restaurants have little control over these so I do think it's best to find the food truck and get it straight from them. I don't like all the Styrofoam and plastic involved, the Pandemic really has generated so much unrecyclable garbage. Still, please don't litter. I also want to warn you, this tasty delicious food is messy. We spilled some lobster juice somewhere in the car and have tried everything to eliminate the lingering odor to no avail. If you have to eat in a car, borrow your brother-in-law's car, or anyone else who borrowed one of your power tools and never returned it.

I placed an order through Doordash shortly before noon on a Thursday (they were open). The driver got to the truck shortly after noon to find it completely closed. Supposedly they're open 11-7.So I didn't get any food and had to deal with an annoying Doordash refund (they weren't going to refund the delivery or tip originally) , and Doordash loses the cost of delivery and the tip... All because South Padre doesn't know how to manage Doordash.Edit: I don't believe the response. First, I checked with your own website, not Doordash, to see if you were open. It's not Doordash's fault you weren't open when your own site claims you were.And second, you've had months if not years to figure this thing out with Doordash. They're not perfect, but they are extremely responsive when you contact them. If you haven't solved this issue by now, the fault is yours and you're doing something wrong.

I tried their food for the first time today with a friend, and I was not disappointed! We had the sopa de mariscos which was so delicious, and the lobster and crab roll to go with it. I highly recommend anyone who loves seafood to go and check them out!! Great prices and great service; 10/10

We were recommended the swordfish and glad we got it. Very very good! We got cakes as well. Going to continue to buy our seafood from south padre.
