The old Hunan on 3rd St was exceptionally good and service excellent. Now through Sushi pirate my last order was overcooked egg foo yung and delivery guy could not find my address while I was standing outside my door. Very disappointing.

Cashew chicken tasted just as bad as it looked. Will not be ordering from this place again. Look elsewhere.

Food wasn't as good as I had expected. Will not order again.

Not sure if something changed because we ordered 6+ months ago and the food was great but a large group of us ordered for work and nothing tasted the same and the flavor was way off. Was not satisfying.

Hunan recently moved into the same spot as Sushi Pirate in downtown La Crosse. It labels its vegan items, which is super helpful, but the food they make is not great. The veg egg roll ($4) wasn't bad with a good wrapper and non-mushy filling. The sauteed green beans ($9.25) (vegan by default) depressed me as it consisted of frozen green beans turned chewy in a flavorless sauce. The vegetable chow mei fun ($9.75) (vegan by default) consists of thin rice noodles in salty seasoning. I'm assuming it was MSG (which doesn't bother me), but the dish won't wow you and it might turn you off. The beancurd w/mushroom & bamboo ($10.75) is the only substantial vegan tofu dish and here it's a mix of vegetables and tofu in a gloopy brown sauce. While not amazing, it wasn't terrible. I also ordered a vegetable gyoza, but they forgot to give that to me, and it wasn't worth it to complain once I figured it out. La Crosse doesn't have a ton of Chinese spots other than stripmall buffet spots. Great Wall is a couple blocks away and, while I didn't try it, it seems popular and the food looks decent based on its pictures.

Ordered online here tonight, ordered sesame chicken and paid 3 extra dollars for extra sesame chicken and a thing of white rice with it. Ordered shrimp lo mein (which was terrible) and egg rolls. We never got our sesame chicken at all or rice and i called and kindly told them that they had forgotten to give it to us and the guy AND chef literally yelled at me telling me i was lying and that i did get it. The food was terrible and i paid 50 bucks and tipped 10 to get half my food. Will never be returning. Do not go here.

Nothing but broccoli and expensive. Ordered to get more authentic Chinese food. Terrible

Not good! Go to china star or the mall. There were bug wing type foods in the orange chicken, the chicken wasn't done/undercooked, the rice was hard and soft/undercooked, and beef was very tough in the beef and broccoli, and broccoli was gross also. Never going back there. $22 lesson learned.

Good food for carry out.

Poor quality for the price!

Rated one star as there is no lower rating, food was not prepared as advertised, menu described entree as savory, and taste was sour with a little sweet. Noodles in thee lo mein were overcooked and soggy. Fried rice was flavorless and dry. If I could rate lower I would.

I admire this venue very much. there is a friendly ambiance. The food is exeptionaly good. the service is effective and the waiters are friendly. The cost is modest. deeply recommend.

No matter what I get it is always fresh and delicious, I am very picky about meat and they always have amazing white meat chicken and lean beef, NO mystery meat or chewy bits here. I have been eating here for 30 years. Never had a bad meal. Not even once.
