Great stay! Employees genuine and nice. This place is steeped in history. Great bars on site. Stable room was perfect. PLUS IS THE KEURIG MACHINE! Comfy bed. Would absolutely stay again

Absolutely obsessed with this place! I have not yet stayed as a guest, but visited here twice in the same day because it was so phenomenal. The service/bartenders, mixology, ambiance made this such an enjoyable experience. The flatbreads are also delicious!! Highly recommend the bar in the hotel as well as the speakeasy at night.

What a wonderfully unique place to stay! The property is beautiful and the mansion and carriage house are really cool! We stayed in the Carriage House. The room was spacious and included a whirlpool tub in the main area. Everything was very clean, there was a Keurig, Apple TV available, robes (very plush and comfy), and a hair dryer with diffuser (this was a bonus in my book as someone who always brings my own because it’s rare for a hotel room provide a diffuser for us curly hair individuals). There is also body wash, shampoo, and conditioner provided in the shower. The whirlpool tub was spacious and sparkling clean. It was wonderful to soak in after a day walking the lake and downtown. The bed was comfy and the linens were nice and warm. Also, it was nice and quiet! We don’t hear anything from another room, no voices, walking/steps, etc. The only thing we heard was the heat unit that would kick on/off occasionally. Also loved that there was a screen door and regular door. It was nice to have the main door open and enjoy the breeze. We lucked out with our weather! Also loved that each door in the Carriage House has a numeric keypad with a code provided at check in. No hassle of keys or keycards and it worked like a charm. There are 2 bars on the property - the Apothecary Bar in the rear of the mansions first floor and the Speakeasy. The Apothecary was great - unique drinks that would meet anyone’s taste. The Mixologist was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He pointed out places to explore on the mansions first floor and suggested some drinks to try. I enjoyed the hot buttered chai - delicious! The Speakeasy is amazing!! Not only is the service second to none, the atmosphere is dead on. The drink menu is great with a variety of unique options for anyone’s palette. The music selection is phenomenal! Love to hear Sinatra, Dean, Glenn Miller, etc. The doorman is awesome and fits the period perfectly. The bartender is amazing- she will go above and beyond to find a drink to wet your whistle. We made it a point to visit the Speakeasy each night of our stay. I could not recommend the Maxwell Mansion highly enough. It’s close enough to downtown LG while being far enough away. During busy seasons individuals who are of average fitness could easily walk from the property to the lake and other areas. To the owners and staff, thank you for a wonderful weekend! We will be back!!

Best kept secret - now that I let the cat out of the bag! Great service and beautiful rooms! The speakeasy is so fun and amazing! Cocktails are great and they have a small appetizer menu which is perfect too!

We went into the speakeasy and it was so much fun! Decorated for the season and so many fun drinks! The bartender even made me a drink off the menu! It was a great experience! Can't wait to visit Lake Geneva again!

All of the staff members were great! Visit the Apothecary and the Speak Easy. The rooms are great, too.

Wow, what an awesome experience! Cutest little bar, kind staff members, and a beautiful mansion to wander around or relax in. It's worth a visit even if you aren't staying there as a guest. And they made the best old fashioned we've ever had. ❤️

Bridle Room in the Stables is beautiful and very romantic. Decorated beautifully with a double soaker copper tub which is lovely and a separate steam shower and small sitting room.Bar and speakeasy very cool. Customer service was wonderful. Highly recommended!

It was a really lovely place. I booked a room for 2 nights with my husband for our anniversary. We got one of the rooms with the hot tub. It was either the stables or the carriagehouse, I can't remember.Everything was lovely, except I could hear the gentleman next door in his hot tub talking on the phone. It was like he was in the same room. Paper thin walls. Doesn't make for a romantic evening if you know what I mean. Staff was super friendly, and the room and grounds were lovely. The fact that I could hear my neighbors was a big turn turn off, unfortunately. We have kids, so privacy was important to us. ? If we could hear him, he most certainly could hear us lol. I also ordered chocolate covered strawberries, which never arrived. Housekeeping showed up after 1 while we were trying to relax and nap after our lunch, so our room never got cleaned.I would try a different room next time.

My husband and I stayed here for weekend get away! First impression was super charming and elegant mansion! Going during Christmas time with all the holiday decorations is a must! The staff are all friendly and we enjoyed the speak easy/bar on Saturday night! A lot of fun history! The 4/5 stars comes from the fact that we could hear the music from the basement all the way up to our room on the 2nd floor room! The sound carries easily through the vents. It's an old hotel but some additional sound proofing would have been nice as we were trying to sleep at 10pm and the music didn't stop until almost midnight. Needless to say we will be back as it was very relaxing to get away from hustle and bustle of the city but maybe pick a different room next time!

We stayed for a long weekend around Halloween. The staff were great. Bartenders in The Apothecary and Speakeasy were awesome mixologist. Having bars and food on site was a bonus. A great couples retreat! Town is walkable if weather permits.Rooms: We stayed in the main mansion and the room was clean and well appointed. Looked nicer than the photos.Food & drinks: We had some delicious cocktails, flat bread and dip. The convenience of 2 onsite bars was a great asset.Noteworthy details: Having a bar (The Apothecary) and a Speakeasy on site was convenient and fun.
