Found this hidden gem randomly. Food is delicious and authentic. The server is super friendly but she does not speak English. You can order by number as shown on menu. Free soft drink comes with the dishes for each person. Cheaper pricing than other Chinese restaurants nearby. Will definitely come back to try more dishes!

Stumbled across this place recently and have tried various items which have all been fantastic. Very authentic Chinese dishes, good sized portions, and excellent flavors all at an affordable price. Meals include a soft drink, and they even offer a bento box option which comes with four preselected dishes that costs about $13!Coming here is like stepping into your mom’s kitchen, if she were Chinese, and getting some much needed TLC in the form of a hot, delicious meal.

Very unassuming place with tasty authentic Hunan (my hometown) food! The portion is large and the price is very reasonable.

I got the spicy tofu. The sauce was a bit salty, but other than that the tofu was tasty and the spice-level was good. The waitress was also really nice. You also get a free drink with your meal and can grab it from the refrigerator at the back of the restaurant.

Very good and authentic. Sliced pork in spicy sauce appetizer was very good. Brisket noodle soup was fantastic.

I’m not sure what the real name of this restaurant is… It’s in Chinese. But the most important information is it’s delicious. The sign says Koi house restaurant… But it does not show up that way in the web or on Google guides… It is the mystery restaurant that you kind of just have to know aboutSo we called the mystery restaurant at 1403.The restaurant itself is configured, oddly… Pragmatic in that “it’s all about the food kind of way” feeling that I have about many Chinese restaurants. (I am fourth generation Chinese American). The spaces are a little cramped, and it feels a bit like you were eating in the hallway or near the kitchen door.… But again the food make the trip worth whileThe service was good… Although the woman who took our order, did not speak English. No problem, though she was super friendly… And careful to confirm that the item she ordered from the menu by number actually showed up on her electronic ordering pad has the correct things we meant to order . The chef made the dishes, hot and fresh and they were delicious. They make their food spicy… Hunan… So when you see the little pepper, don’t doubt it… There was some heat in this food, and it was again delicious. There are some common Chinese American food options on the menu… But most of the menu is filled with wonder if things not seen on most pedestrian, Chinese-American menus… It was lovelyThe menus extensive, and to learn about this restaurant, would take many trips to try the broad assortment of delicacies… Worth the investment, I suspectParking: This restaurant in Small West Street parking all around in the neighborhoods. If you need to park right next to the front door it might be tough. If you don’t mind walking a block or two it’s probably pretty easy.

Came here for lunch with five friends and ordered 7 dishes among the 6 of us. It was way too much food but still only came to $26 per person, including beverages and tip. Service was great, portions were generous, and everything was delicious. The dried chicken with black beans and the hot and spicy squid were our favorites. If you're looking for fancy, you won't find it here; it's clean, but without even a hint of "class." But don't let that stop you from trying it, because the best food often comes from the most humble places. We left stuffed and happy (and with leftovers) and will definitely be back to try more from their extensive menu.

Great local restaurant with fresh, authentic Chinese food and also a rotating menu. This is one of my favorite lunch spots in MadisonAuthentic, fresh and generous portions. There is a new menu every day. Very tasty!
