This is a nice brewery/restaurant!! The staff are friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and reasonably priced. I had a flight and all the beers were good. No IPA's that day.

Lauren, our waiter, was amazing. Kind, happy, funny, patient, attentive ,.. need I go on? I'm a fan of Cubano sandwiches and order one every time I see it on a menu. The one I had today at Great Dane Hilldale was the best I've ever had.

I’ve been wanting to stop here for a long time. The beer here is great. The food didn’t even come close to expectations. It wasn’t busy at all. Many open tables. Our waitress wasn’t very attentive. Our appetizer didn’t come out until after our main meal, because they forgot it. The food prices were kinda higher, but that would have been just fine had it been quality food. I probably won’t be a repeat customer.Kid-friendliness: Decent kids menu.

Greeted and seated right away! Our server was awesome. I was curious if I'd like the waffle fry and made a joke about trying one, he went to the kitchen and brought out a fry. He had great humor and was so attentive. Overall the food was okay. The smash burger was not a smash patty, and the fish was over cooked. Fries and cheese curds won the show. It is a comfortable place because ample seating options. Our server earned major points.

I started with their seasonal beer called doppel bock. It was very very good brew. Unfortunately the food was not. My son ordered the macaroni and cheese and me and my wife both had the pot pie. It was a cold rainy night and I thought it would be perfect. Pot pies were a little salty, but it tasted pre-packaged. It comes with a pretzel that was not even warm but a little on the cold side. The macaroni and cheese was dry and not saucy. I would go someplace else if you're looking for good food. Everything tastes prepackaged except for the beer. On a plus side, the food did come out fast in our waitress did a great job

Horrible service while seated at the bar. Our waiter/bartender (a young man) totally ignored us. We were there on March 3rd, between 2:30 & 3:00pm.We were reseated to the bar because our original seating spot was so cold we asked to be moved. The bartender delivered us our food, order put in by of our original server, put it in front of us and said, “Is there anything else I can get you?” I starred at him for about 5 seconds and told him some plates and napkins would be nice. He looked at me like I was out of my mind, but returned with the items. That was THE LAST time we ever saw him. We sat there for about 30 minutes eating our food and no one else asked us (other female behind the bar pour beer), if everything was ok, did we need another drink etc etc et. It was not busy when we were there, so it isn’t like they were swamped, which they weren’t. So to be clear, the next time ANYONE came to us was to give us our check, with a smile of course. We eat out frequently at a lot of places in our great state, but this was by way, the worst service and worst incident of being ignored by a restaurant in many years. We won’t be back to this location again, thank you very much.

Ordered Doordash and everything was so good. But the item deserving the most rave review and what prompted me to write this is the lemon ricotta pancakes. Best thing I've eaten in awhile! The brisket Mac and cheese was also delicious and very large portion. Will definitely be back when in Madison area!

Terrible food. Decent beer. Coming from an ex-cook. Sent cheesecurds back. Overcooked or dirty fryer. Friday night- they cannot hang.

Went here last Monday and had a great lunch. My granddaughter and wife ordered the French onion soup. My daughter ordered a chicken soup, which she thought didn't have much taste. I ordered the chicken pot pie and it was very good, but very hot...had to wait til it cooled off. We ordered the pretzel and beer cheese, which was very good. Service was good, atmosphere great..

We're out of towners, looked online at menu and reviews, it was 50/50. I got the chicken pot pie, and a cold pretzel bread stick, it was soup, not a traditional chicken pot pie. After alot of salt/ pepper it was just ok. Wouldn't order again. My wife got the California chicken, myself, I would have sent it back, and request a chicken sandwich, not a 1/8 inch thick patty that was completely over cooked. I had a bite and it was like tearing leather. Best part of both meals were her waffle fries and my sliced applesauce... definitely not a repeat customer. I'm not asking too much for quality food coming from the kitchen!!

I ordered takeout. For me this is a mixed review. I loved the Chicken Pot Pie, it tasted great, but the takeout container (round, clear, plastic) made it look like Thanksgiving leftovers! Pot Pie crust was mixed in with the pot pie, just weird. The New London Bridge Fish Fry was spicy and bitter, probably from the Peck's Pilsner beer batter. Just too weird for me. The fish itself was white and tasty. Fries were really good. Coleslaw was good, but tiny. Tartar sauce great. Great Dane has a generous $15 birthday bonus as part of their loyalty program that is run by a third party app. VERY difficult to redeem. I gave up and went to the restaurant. Staff was very helpful and came to the rescue! With my phone number it was easy to redeem for dining in or for takeout. Worth the trip, $15 off ANY menu item. Must redeem within 7 days of your birthday.
