*food: simple, affordable, good. *Beverages: good but their coffee isn't quite up to my standards. *Service: slow but friendly. *Atmosphere: bright and airy but the chairs are a bit uncomfortable. Quiet, peaceful. *Covid protocols seem solid. Overall if you're looking for something simple/unpretentious this is a good spot. I'll pop back in for sure.

Excellent coffee, great service, fantastic baked goods. The space is nice and laid back, a great place to work or read or stare aimlessly out the window. They have their own baked goods as well as some items from nearby Madison Sourdough and Gotham Bagels. After frequenting for years I can say I’ve never had a negative experience. I can not recommend this place enough. They also have parking which is a plus in a city like Madison.

So I stumbled in because, hey, it’s close to work and I was on a time crunch.Super clean place! Lots of non dairy options, I went for oatmilk. Iced mocha with oatmilk is the thing of legends. Since I also have some odd grain allergies, I grabbed a carrot ginger muffin (gluten free.) Super tasty, and not too dry like so many other GF options out there. Nice spice cake flavor! And the STAFF. I can not tell you how sweet the staff is. Super accommodating and answering all my questions. They’re just the best. My coworkers kept recommending them, and I can see why. I’m a new regular.

COVID review - walking up to GZ made my heart happy. Always a great place to catch your breath and the outdoor seating under the trees allows you to observe Willy in all its gentrification glory. Please tip generously-keep Willy great.
Cool coffee shop near the lake front in Madison. Very accommodating staff and the place smells amazing! I enjoyed the iced coffee and my family enjoyed their baked goods (s'mores cake and a vegan muffin).
