On the weekend I bought a pozole like every weekend and I noticed that they changed the size of the plate making it smaller and it also seemed to have only grains and no meat. The truth is that I always ate there but I don't think they should do that because the same price, people want to eat and not leave there hungry, because they gave me less than what they normally serve, how sad.

The carnitas were plain awful. They were really nothing more than waste meat. We got nachos to share and both of us wanted the carnitas. The "carnitas" was over 75% fat and totally disgusting. They used the nachos to try and hide what they did. I guess since we aren't Hispanic, they thought we wouldn't know. Oh, we knew RIGHT AWAY. We should have dumped the whole plate on the floor and left. This was the absolute WORST MEAL I have EVER been served at a restaurant. Perhaps they should rename their carnitas nacho plate "El Gringo Especial". NEVER AGAIN!Edit: I forgot to add, we also had to clear and clean our table before we could eat there. Plain nasty all around. Zero stars!

We are getting spoiled in Madison with so many choices for excellent Mexican food...and Los Atlantes is certainly one of the better choices. Located in a strip mall on South Whitney Way, Los Atlantes is a cafeteria-style restaurant, complete with a small bakery. Service was fast. The mole enchiladas were excellent, with a particularly rich and flavorful mole. The platillo de borrego (a succulent lamb stew) was also very good.

I order a cake for my daughter's bday and they told me it would be ready by the date after 11am... my husband stops by to pick it by 3pm and they told him it wasn't ready it would be in 15 min.. when the guy comes to give the cake he literally drops the cake on the counter all the letters of the cake got smeared I had to fix them a little and the guy never apologized... really bad attitude

Food is always good, service was always good and fast tell the last couple of time I was here, I’always order something simple to go. This past 2 times I ordered taco’s and took them over 30min to get me the food! Hope this gets addressed!

If possible I would give them 0 stars, the costumer service was terrible. The cashier was rude when I asked a simple question then proceeded to talk badly about me. It was just a terrible experience overall do not recommend.

This place rules. Burrito and concha were both top tier. And super quick. Store had good vibes. Will be making this a regular spot.

It's a bakery with food. We tried chilaquiles with red sauce and chorizo. Also had the huevos con salsa verde.

The food here is super solid. Got the birria tacos and chips and green salsa. Both of these were pretty good, the birria could have been more flavorful though. I also ordered a concha and wouldn't recommend it. I ordered pretty late at night, but the concha I got was stale and super dry. Decent food overall though!

Ever since I moved to Madison from Chicago, I've been looking for a good, authentic, and delicious Mexican restaurant that reminds me of home, and this place is the best place I have found on the West side of Madison! The staff are very polite. I have so far tried their tortas, pozole, and consume, and I have yet to be disappointed. All the negative comments saying the flavors and taste of the food are not "authentic" have obviously not had exposure to different types of Mexican seasoning and cooking beyond just the standard Tex Mex flavors offered in the area. The best part about this place is that they offer dishes beyond just your typical street food (tacos, tortas, quesadilla, etc.), and they actually have amazing entrees that are rarely found in Madison (mole, pozole, chilaquiles, etc.). Would definitely recommend coming here!

I don't like posting negative reviews about homey places in the community, but I need to talk about my one experience here a while back.Since it was my first (and only) visit here, I ordered enough food to last a couple of meals (carryout).I had the mixed fajitas and the tamales. The fajitas were passable: good flavor, but tough, overcooked meat. Much less good than any fajitas you can get at any of the overly "Americanized Mexican" places in town. The *tamales*. Thankfully(?), I ate the fajitas before trying the tamales. As soon as I opened the tamales, I was overpowered by the smell of pure rancidity.Imagine making fresh tamales, then flushing them down the toilet, then somehow getting them back out of the sewer and smearing them with garbage-smelling bacteria, then putting them in petri dishes with an enzyme designed specifically to encourage bacterial growth; add a bunch of rotten cabbage, steep that mix in the garbage can for 2-3 weeks, then scoop the final product out and serve it to a paying customer who had to wait around for 15 minutes just to get their order taken. That's what the tamales smell like.I will not return.
