Perhaps it was an off day, but everyone in our group of five thought the food ranged from tasteless to a bit yuck.

EDIT April 22nd, 2023 - Reduced 2 stars.COVID had made a lot of businesses suffer, and I think Morris did see some changes I wasn't looking forward to. The overall warmth of service has gone down. You need to order at the counter, which may be more like real ramen restaurants in Japan, but takes away the warm hospitality Morris was known for.Their Katsu chicken bun has changed. Earlier they used to give 2 small buns with Katsu patties and the filling used to be super yummy with a creamy texture. I used to take vegetarian people to try out chicken and they would love the Katsu chicken buns! But now they have drastically reduced it's quality - not as creamy anymore and it comes a single big bun presented in a simple saucer which doesn't look tempting at all for 6.5-7$!Overall, the ramen quality seems to be maintained, although I think the place certainly has lost some of its charm. If they read this review, hope they are able to restore it in the near future, the service and good quality in particular.ORIGINAL REVIEW (pre-COVID; Fall 2017):As my first Ramen experience in Madison, Morris surprised me to an extent. Place had a typical Japanese feel. The waitress was very nice and accommodating.3 of us tried the Morris, Spicy and Veggie ramen. Each had their own different tastes. Morris ramen tasted like typical Japanese pork based broth, only a little mellower. I liked the spicy one as, but I do not recommend it to not so spicy-goers.Chicken katsu bun was the bestest! Very soft meat n crispy texture. Pork buns were good as well.I asked for a fried chicken instead of regular pieces in my ramen and the waitress was like, she also wants to try it!All in all, good food, 80% authentic I’d say, excellent staff, just the required ambience and excellent chicken buns. Could become my go-to ramen restaurant in Madison.

Found a spectacular ramen place in Madison near the capital. Ordered three different types of ramen and they each had distinct flavor of broth. With excellent chewy texture of noodles and fresh ingredients, they were all quite good. Strongly recommended.

Came here because of raving reviews. Disappointed when we ordered Morris ramen. The broth is too fatty and ramen is tasteless. I would be better off making instant noodle at home.

Used to be a great place but has gone downhill significantly. Service was poor (but grace given because I could tell our server was new) and food was just ok but not worth the price anymore. The inexcusable part though was a server spilled ramen on my partners down coat that was on the back of her chair and did not bother to notify us, she only noticed when she went to go to the restroom and her hood was filled with oily meat broth. There is no way they didn’t notice the spill, it was significant and all over the floor. Now we have to launder an expensive down jacket after going out to dinner. No discount offer, not even an offer to comp our drinks.

Used to be the best Ramen in town, but not anymore. Food was ok, very mild flavors, service desires for more.

First we came in and the hostess wanted us to sit on the bar because she didn’t want to clean a dirty empty table. They’re charging 5$ for pickles (side)They make you put a card on file before you eatI ordered a chicken katsu. This was the most disgusting thing I’ve had. It was a “chicken patty “ it was mush (dough like ) no flavor When I asked she let me know it was “a patty made from LEFT OVER SCRAPS “My friends ordered the morris ramen which I tried. This was so greasy I wiped pure grease from my mouth.I have to say the customer service was worst then the food. They spend all their talk talking and chilling with each other. And when we waved them down for the check they looked at us three times and ignored us. Until I raised my voice. This is a joke of a restaurant save your money. First and last time.

Went there or tried to go there for a friends birthday and the server was incredibly rude to us. When we got there he said it would be an hour wait which is fine I wasn't gonna complain even though it didn't look that busy but then we were debating on if we wanted to sit at the bar and decided not to which I will say I understand the server being annoyed at that because as someone who has worked in customer service and understands what its like to deal with annoyances it can be a struggle. However the reason I am giving this place such a bad review is because this server kicked us out of the restaurant for no good reason. We weren't disturbing the peace or causing a scene or anything of that matter. I have never been treated so disrespectfully while dining out and I hope that server learns a lesson in humility as he needs it. This is the first negative review I have ever written and I don't plan on coming back.

Morris Ramen was seasoned just right and the noodles were delicious. The soup tasted a bit like udon soup, but it didn't feel luxurious and was a bit disappointing. The toppings included as standard weren't that plentiful, so considering the price, it was just so-so. The beef donburi was actually a beef bulgogi rice bowl. It was delicious and my wife liked it. There are many Korean-style menu items such as red pepper paste, ssamjang, and kimchi.
