Delicious food and amazing coffee! We arrived at 6:45 am on a Sunday in March to avoid the lines and it worked. This place is pricey, especially for not really having table service.

Had an amazing vegan hash and a super yummy freshly squeezed grapefruit mimosa here. Good coffee too!

BUG IN THE SALT– STAY AWAY! My fiancé, and I are visiting from Long Island, and wanted some pancakes. I feel almost robbed for having spent my money on this meal, and then, after finishing my food analyzing my surroundings.Everything seemed way over they even charged an extra 2.75% fee to deal with inflation or whatever excuse they came up with Rob their customers for such a terrible meal/service.The ketchup bottle was so old the top was crusty, black and disgusting. It looked older than me.There was a literal bug in the salt which we used and makes me wanna throw up at the thought of it. See pictures attached.Shame on this place for charging seven dollars for a side of bacon and only giving three small strips.Stay far away from this place there seems to be many other breakfast spots locally that are bound to be much cleaner and much more bang for your book.I genuinely mean that this place should actually be closed down.DO BETTER SHORT STACK EATERY, DO BETTER…..I deserve a refund.

Wow! $20 for eggs, sausage, pancake and coffee? That's not a typical breakfast price in Madison. I don't think this place is worth it. There's nothing really special about their food. There are other breakfast places in Madison that offer better quality and prices such as Marigold, The Old Fashioned or Basset Brunch Club. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place.

A local favorite for a filling breakfast or lunch. Kids will love the chocolate chip pancakes. A short stack is hearty enough for most young appetites.Recommend corned beef hash or eggs Benedict for more mature appetites.Get there early or expect a line. The wait is worth it but you may get hit with sticker shock. They pay their staff better than most establishments and you can taste the quality.

Great food, mediocre service and very high prices. Pancakes are almost 15$ which is pretty crazy.

Potatoes were a little heavy but the biscuits were some of the best I've had.

A for-profit business, owned by wealthier individuals, should not be asking for charity from patrons via GoFundMe; they should get a loan if they need financial help or close up shop.

Highly recommend this restaurant. The food was excellent. I had a short stack(3) chocolate chip pancakes. Light, fluffy, and very tasty. Orange juice was really good, too. My go-to place for breakfast downtown, especially when the students are out of school. Otherwise, the line is long to get into this gem.
