Placed an order for pick up. Checked in on time. I was told it was not ready yet. Waited 20 minutes and asked again and it had been sitting behind the counter the whole time. Since it was hot food I asked kindly for it to be remade and apparently that was not ok. Just an acknowledgement that there was a mistake made and that was a reasonable request. It's not that hard.
We came in to order food on a quick lunch break, and then waited for our food for 45 minutes. For a sandwich and scrambled eggs.

Stalzy's has one of the best breakfasts in Madison. The breakfast sandwich is perfect and the service is just right! Their baked goods are on par with anything else on the Madison market. What's more, they open at a time that let's me have breakfast and still accomplish things with my morning!

Got the carry out 4 pack fishfry half fried walleye half haddock. We got german potato salad and potato pancakes. We also got a side of beans and a loaf of rye bread.Five stars.The meal was packed very well, an important consideration. The portions were huge.Both fish were absolutely delicious. The walleye may have traveled a tad better than the haddock. I will certainly still order a mix again.The German potato salad was great, the potato pancakes superior. We were given twice as much coleslaw as we could possibly eat. The dinner rolls were fresh.The rye bread was amazing. So good.We plan to order a fishfry again.
Yum!!! Stalzy’s has the best sandwiches! I wanted to give 5 stars-for service and food, but it’s so darn cold in there!! If it were warm (and not drafty from door openings for bread deliveries), it would be a supremely pleasant dining experience.

Love everything on the menu! Blt and old fashioned potato salad is great! They used to have the best tuna fish sandwich, no longer on the menu! Stalzy can you bring back the tuna????? So
On 12/7/23, the first night of Hanukkah, I placed an order for two 4-count potato pancakes. I scheduled the pickup for 3:45pm. After I picked them up I swung by Woodman's to get more sour cream and applesauce. I got home around 4:15pm and opened the box and there was only one order of potato pancakes. I quickly called and a woman answered the phone. She checked with the kitchen and discovered that they didn't see that it was an order for two. She said she would refund my money for the second order. I said that's nice, but our dinner is ruined, only one of us got food. We're going to have to either go hungry or figure something else out for dinner. I said it would be nice to get a coupon or discount for the next time since this is such an inconvenience. She said, "I refunded you the food you didn't get". I said, "that's a no-brainer. I didn't get the food so of course I get a refund for that. But I am also inconvenienced by missing half of the food I ordered and I can't go back and get it now since you're closed." She said she would have her manager call me back tomorrow. That was almost three weeks ago. They clearly don't have good service and don't care about my business. The food was good which is sad. I also tipped, which is even more frustrating. It makes me not want to tip because you have to do so before the service is even rendered and it obviously doesn't guarantee anything.
