I saw a lot of best in Madison plaques on the wall. I can tell you right now that Amber cuisine is much better. I get the same order and portians at Amber for $5 less. My samosas were overdone. Barely chew them bc it's thick breading that was burnt. The sauces weren't even barely an ounce. Amber give us 2 full ounce sauces . Also all sauces were watered down. The Tikka and samasoas sauces were so watery that they spilled of my plate quickly. Amber has really thick Tikka and sauces to where I have to scoop it out. Not impressed guys...do better! People were nice tho and restaurant is nice.

I could not be more impressed with a local restaurant. The staff at Swagat are incredibly friendly. I went there for my first time today and they gave my one year old son a smoothie and ice cream for free because it's his birthday. And they brought our food out to us in the car.Absolutely above and beyond regarding to customer service! The food was incredible! They have gained a loyal customer forever.

Food was above average for Madison area. We had their weekend lunch buffet. Food was flavorful and not muted like some other Indian restaurants in the area, which was a plus to me. Bathroom can use some cleaning.

If you want to eat a meal like you in a factory conveyor belt, then over for weekend buffet. In the past, you had the option to order something other than water - not when I went last (Feb 2024). And it was worse than that ... The only time someone came to our table was to drop off, or pick up, the check.I thought it was weird, so I looked around. No other table had any drink other than water. This was about 8 other tables in the first room by the entrance. I could not see the back room.So it appears like this is a decision, not a fluke.Lastly, the bill came to the table with a processing fee already added. Reminder that no one talked to us at all, so they have no idea how we plan on paying. Did I pay via CC, yes. But that's because I was already charged for it.Until I'm confident of changes, this was my last buffet visit.
what happened?!! this was the best Indian food and my favorite restaurant in all of Madison for years. They must have changed hands because the food is suddenly just terrible. the naan is rubbery pita bread, the tikka masala is flavorless tomato soup... I could go on and on. I'm genuinely so sad.

We had a wonderful experience. This is our favorite restaurant in Madison. Baboo provided great service.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly.
Absolutely delicious and a real "Fine Dining" atmosphere. Friendly staff.Kid-friendliness: I can't say enough about how delicious the food was. Unfortunately, I have an 8-year old picky-eater ?. I wish there was a simple option for kids who don't yet have an appreciation for culinary delights. They were wonderful at this restaurant, and we tried our best with plain rice and some chicken without sauce. She did like the mango smoothie and the mango ice cream.

Clean and bright. Lunch service was quick. Food was very good and I would love to try other dishes. I went for the buffet, but is only available during the weekend, so check if that is what you are looking for.
