Stopped by here for a quick bite. The service was really fast and we were greeted and seated almost immediately. The place has nothing special to it decor-wise. Wouldn't say it's a fancy place or anything. Most of the other patrons seemed to be college students. I was there with some old college friends and family. Great atmosphere to just catch up over food. The menu seemed to have more authentic Chinese food rather than focus on the Americanized things like Crab ragoons and orange chicken. They had bull frogs, duck, and other options. Very nice selection. And very fairly priced.I had the Mongolian beef. We also got country style pork and beef fried rice. All were generously portioned enough to share. The food tasted great and I will definitely be going back.OverallIf you're looking for good Chinese food location, this is a great spot. Beware their food isn't exactly like the typical Chinese-American restaurant (but they do have those options too). Not a place that would impress a date on the first night. But definitely would be great to go with friends. Only down side was we never got water refills.

Wish I could eat here every day. The food was fantastic, and for the price, you get great portion sizes.

The fried pork dumplings are so good my favorite thing to get there. Their soy sauce is pretty salty and vinegary but overall the best dumplings ever! Food is pricey but doesn’t compare to the taste.

My daughter wanted chinese for lunch and I didn't want your regular Chinese for Americans. I knew I made the right choice because it smelled so good in here and everyone's food looked amazing. I got the dry braised chicken in hot pot and my daughter got sweet and sour chicken. I was so happy with my food. Tons of mushrooms, bell and shashito (I think) peppers, garlic and maybe tofu and the right touch of numbing peppercorns. Folk, if you don't know this dish comes with a ton of dried chili peppers. That's how it's supposed to be for the complaints I saw in the comments. My daughters chicken was good too. What you'd hope for in Sweet and Sour chicken. Fluffy crispy batter and the chicken wasn't greasy. Hers also came with some fried rice and a little egg roll which I stole from her:). I took home some dumplings for another daughter who loves them and they were tasty as well. I'm excited for a place in Madison that I can take my family who likes American-Chinese food and I can get something that I really want! And they have Hot Pot Side note: The service was great. I don't think some people realize the service at somewhere that isn't a typical "american" restaurant may not have the wait staff at your table every three seconds but they were nice, made sure our drinks were full and we got our food promptly.

I was excited to try this place because I'd heard good things and it's been on state street for so long. I even had hope while looking at the menu and all the great options and reasonable prices! Orders were swiftly taken, then all hope was lost as the food came out. The won tons were okay, they had good filling but the wrap was really soggy. The soup had a good amount of ginger in it which was different but gave good flavor and the seafood was fine. The issue was the noodles. They didn't use egg noodles and instead were more so the stir fry ones that don't really belong in a soup. The braised beef was tender but the flavor was off. More sweet with a thick sauce? It was.. sub par and the seasame chicken was good but was more reminiscent of orange chicken. And the fried rice could have been from a frozen bag. Then the service was, what I would expect from a good Chinese restaurant. They ignore you. And usually that's fine cuz the food is so good. But this time I needed hot sauce, some water, and a to go container, against my better judgement. So sad to say I will not be back. But I suppose if you're in the area?? No, I would probably just pick up happy wok instead.

This place have very good hot pot and came with standard toppings and items for them. The downside to the food is that the deserts are self served so they stay at their counters for a long time, making them very dry and off putting to eat. Another problem after Covid is the way the hot pots are served. The food come in a giant bowl for the table to share, which is not viable with current awareness of public health. Other than that the place look a little dull with yellow paint so it look a little old. The tables are all booths but there is no space between the booths nor is there a divider to block out the conversation next to you. I say you can go here if it's the closest hot pot place but there are places in town that are more preferable

Food was very good but overpriced. I only gave 3 stars because no napkins, really? Really? You can'tgive 2 napkins for 5¢? If you don't put them in the bag, tell people where they are, PENNY WISE, DOLLAR FOOLISH. spent $14.95 on a meal for one person worth $9-12. The fork they gave me was so flimsy and useless, there is no way they paid for it. The fork company paid them to take 5,000 useless fork's off their hands.

Perfect location in the heart of Madison's "Shopping District." There was a street festival going on yet we were the only ones inside. (Which may be why the service was so fast but I digress.) Huge menu, everyone should be able to find something they like whether they're picky or looking to try something new. Did have to walk a block or so and pay for metered parking, which was worth it to experience the community of Madison. Loved it.

This was our first time ordering (delivery) from Taste of Sichuan and we are thoroughly impressed. By far the best Sichuan food I've ever found in Madison, far better than Fugu and Ichiban, which are the other two we tend to order from. I like that the Taste of Sichuan chefs aren't afraid to make things spicy rather than dumb down Sichuan cuisine for the beige masses. I also like that they know how to use Sichuan peppercorns, again without being afraid to scare those beige tastebuds. I've traveled in Sichuan Province and this food is the real deal. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience Sichuan cuisine. Disclaimer: I can't speak for all of their dishes. We ordered the Chicken w. Chongqing Chili Sauce, Spicy & Sour Chicken, Sichuan Munbean Noodle, and Ma Po Tofu. The Ma Po Tofu wasn't as impressive as the other dishes, but it was passable. The order included a free General Tso Chicken, which although more of an American construct and certainly not Sichuan, was actually very well prepared.

Stopped here on the way toMilwaukee. It was pretty empty seemed like most people ordered to go. I just had some potstickers which were decent. The restaurant just needs a bit of a refresh.
