Absolutely 0 pretense, no frills, and the quality is through the roof. In a world of bible-long menus you have about 20 things and theyre all done extremely well. Id be here every week if I was local.

We were in Madison for a special event and wanted to check this place out since we love diners/greasy spoons/breakfast. So happy we chose this place 10 out of 10 would recommend! Prices are great staff was super friendly, only downside is that they are cash only. They do have an ATM on site though.Dietary restrictions: A member of our party has a weird food allergy and when brought to the attention of the staff, they took it very seriously. Would recommend this place if you do have one, may just be easier to do when not busy.

Great restaurant that has not changed in decades. Best coffee and pancakes I've had at a diner. I will return with the family to try lunch menu. Overall a great experience eating in a diner that is a true classic. Other diners try but cannot build same retro authentic spot. Cash only.

Sat at counter by myself. Was not offered a coffee until two others sat at the counter. Waited 15 minutes for someone to take my order. Two servers walked by me the whole time. Then two regulars showed up at the counter and they were immediately given coffee and had their orders taken. I was still ignored. Requested the amount for the coffee. Was told it would be two bucks without being asked if I would still like to order. Paid and left.Do not go to this diner if you are not a regular and on a schedule.
The omelets and corn beef hash are definitely cooked the way they're supposed to be.Was a very delicious venture.Definitely on my new favorite breakfast place list.

There’s a reason old school is the best school. This is a no frills breakfast/lunch dinner. The coffee is hot, strong and you don’t need to flag down the waitress for a refill- it gets done. The grill man knows the difference between over easy and medium and gets the food out fast, hot and as you ordered it. This is a cash only place. A great well priced breakfast place with friendly staff and old school vibe. I’ll be back.

Excellent home-made corned beef hash! The most friendly and attentive service you'll find anywhere. A small diner feel where everyone who comes in the door is made to feel welcome. The somewhat dated decor might discourage some; don't let that discourage you. You'll be missing out on a great thing!Kid-friendliness: Kids from car seat to booster seat age were welcomed with smiles.

Food was decent, although very basic. Service was pretty awful, we finished and waited 15m trying to pay and the waitress was running to the back , talking to people, and generally doing anything but taking our money. Seemed to be lots of regulars, maybe that's what it takes.
