Friday fish fry was spectacular. I had catfish. Chef is a master at preparing fish. Wife had cod. Lacey was our server and was great.

Walleye and eggs? Who knew that this was a great combination. The perfect Wisconsin dive bar that is serving some pretty amazing food with a very limited kitchen. Have stopped for breakfast 2 times and the food and service can't be beat. And yes walleye for breakfast is amazing! The place is always packed so be patient and have a drink and enjoy the hometown atmosphere!

If you’re ever in need of a late night Friday Night Fish Fry, the Squirrel’s Nest will not disappoint! My husband, mom, and I are visiting my grandma in Madison and needed to show my husband a real Wisconsin experience. We walked in at 8 PM and sat right down and ordered fried wall eye and hash browns with cheese and onions, also served with a dinner roll and cole slaw. They all had a Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet to drink of course. Everything tasted AMAZING and was exactly what we would’ve hoped for. We will definitely be back!
Unassuming outside. All Wisconsin inside. This quaint bar has a big menu that does not disappoint! At this place, you are always among friends!

If you are looking for a classic Wisconsin small bar experience, look no further. Packed with locals, meat raffle in play, tasty food right from a flat top behind the bar, and drinks that satisfy. Get there early, the place was packed when we went on a weekend!

If you like hole in the wall bars, this is where you should go. Went in on a Sunday for breakfast. It was busy, but moved quickly. The staff was super sweet. It definitely has the local watering hole feel, where the regulars all know eachother and their families. It's super cute.
