A small kitchen, but Village Green has arguably the best burger in the Madison area, in my opinion! Great service and regular drink specials as well. An awesome place to pop in for a bite or a drink!

Not a dive bar. Feels like a family restaurant that also has a bar. Excellent vibes. Good burger, chef forgot my grilled onions, but was great. Pretty decent sized, all served with a bunch of pickles. Hidden valley ranch was served with curds.

Excellent cheeseburger! Very home-y type bar where the service was amazing. The lady who took care of my friend and I was sweet and gave suggestions which I highly appreciated! Thank you

Service isn't what it used to be. Everytime I've been here since the new owners took over, I've been ignored or overlooked. Food is still good.

Went there under new owners on a Non busy Sunday afternoon. The wait staff was not very attentive and didn't understand the difference between whiskey and vodka products. The food was ok and the bartender was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately we won't be back unless they can get some of the kinks out.

It would be hard to find a more authentic Wisconsin experience without driving deep into the state. Owner is a very nice guy, veteran, has worked there for years and took it over from the previous owner and has kept the history going. A friendly warm place.

This place is pure Wisconsin. From the wood paneling down to the floors. The lunch specials are solid and so is the bloody mary mix.

It feels homey but definitely a tavern. 70s or 80s style wood paneling. We didn't get any drinks but the burgers were very

Long story short, I've been going to Village Green my whole life. Literally. Even before I could walk all my family would lunch here, usually on Saturdays. I grew up going here. Fast forward multiple decades later I was just there again yesterday and everything about the Saturday Special is now different. The buns, patties, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions are all different. Only thing that's stayed the same is pickles and fries. What has this new owner done!? With the amount of time this guy has spent inside these walls growing up here himself you'd think he'd know to not fix what ain't broke.Never thought this day would come but Culver's burgers are now better than Village Green's are.Maybe see again someday but for now I'll be frequenting other establishments in the area. Shame really, my Saturday tradition has now been retired.I wish you well with continued success to come for hopefully many more decades to go. The only thing constant in life is change afterall, which the coveted Saturday Special has done. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
