Wow! What a great experience! The service was wonderful and the food was excellent! It’s sad that it was so slow but I hope that this hidden gem makes it!

Service is bad, new management is definitely needed to make some changes. Employees/Manager need to provide better service to their customers.

Authenticity can be an overused word, but after several trips to Mexico City, I can safely use "authentic" to describe Restaurant Jerez. I enjoy patronizing local family owned businesses, and found Jerez just checking out the neighborhood I now reside in. Our meal and our experience were fantastic. I invited four friends to join us, and we gorged on food and drink at the bar with abandon. Jerez is a large place, with an extra room for dancing. On this particular night a DJ was spinning salsa and merengue for dancing pleasure until 2:00 AM! The food was fresh, delicious, and unique for Milwaukee. Two of the group had whole snapper, one Veracruz style, the other fried. Both were scrumptious. My shrimp in melted butter was amazing, the shrimp huge and succulent. Soups were served in humongous bowls, as if Viking marauders were being appeased. They were also delicious, filled with chunks of good stuff. Service was warm, welcoming, and appreciative. Platon, Juri, and Maria dealt with our poor language skills with smiles, and all three took great care of us. We were treated like royalty. It was a wonderful night out, and Restaurant Jerez will be our go to when seafood or Mexican food envelops our cerebrum.

Our group had a wide variety of outstanding food, I very much enjoyed the camaron a la diablo, and the ceviche. The setting and service were fantastic, extremely friendly folks and a festive, casual atmosphere... made us feel like we were south of the border. We'll be back!

After my disappointing Mexican restaurant last weekend I was still craving Mexican food. This is a recent bookmark and I think a relatively new restaurant because I'm in the area all the time and I just don't remember seeing it ever. This is the new restaurant/bar or what ever of the week thing that I have been doing for ever so let's let the name stick. The place has a large dining room with a bar on the right as you walk in and an elevated stage looking thing across from the bar. The nice man who greeted me said to please take all the pictures you want which I was going to do anyway but the encouragement was nice. The place has a nice bar with a fresh remodel I thought and a work in progress vibe. The service was wonderful with friendly people.I started with an adult cocktail which I have never had before, the tequila sunrise which was ok but nothing to compare it to and no complaints. They start you off with chips and salsa. The chips were fresh/thin and slightly seasoned so not as seasoned as I like. The salsa was flavorful/mild purée like so not chunky but not watery like some places. The menu is typical but no combination plate that I prefer so I ask my server it the have one and Jack pot I'm told yes but it's not on the menu with 1 taco, 1 enchilada and 1 chimichanga with meat of choice yes, yes I will do that.My plate looked good so let's dig in. The rice was average and cooked almost al dente. The beans had a nice bean flavor, thick and tasted like can but I mix the beans and rice with the salsa so it's always good to me. Then steak enchilada was my first my fork load of the mains with a tastiness of an earthy mole sauce covered in melty cheese and my favorite. The Al pastor taco had tender sweet pork topped with fine diced cilantro/onion and delicious but not the best example of Al pastor that I have had. The ground beef chimichanga was ok/good cooked perfectly with melty cheese/beef on the inside but in last place dish wise.Overall I completely enjoyed my adult cocktail and the food which had flavor with out being overly seasoned I thought as I enjoyed my meal.
