Kawa Ramen is terrific! It’s a bit on the salty side, but the pork belly, seafood, egg, noodles, and other ramen components are on point. We had it as part of the Passport dinner event, and enjoyed it very much.

The Tonkotsu ramen is to die for! And it's so nice to visit the Crossroads location while the main shop is closed. My only complaint is that when you request something added to your ramen, they almost always forget it or confuse it with something else. But the food is so good that it really doesn't matter!

I forgot to take a “before” picture - but the food presentation was on point. Great quality for their sashimi and ramen. We absolutely always get extra egg, pork belly, and wood-ear mushrooms. Wait time was almost non existent and the service was polite and professional. There is a full bar on premises and you can order drinks there.

I order the same thing every time both via delivery and in restaurant. I paid $9 for this one little pepper that’s supposed to be an “appetizer” that they just combined with my order of spicy salmon. I usually go to the Bayshore location but I am so disappointed today in the portion vs what I usually get. It’s literally one little pepper cut up. Smh

Came by for lunch. Service a quick and pleasant. We went to the 3rd street market location. I had the hellfire Ramen and this at the moment is my favorite next to the 15+ restaurants I've visited for Ramen. The broth is clean and delicate. Not to be mistaken for lack of flavor, it is hard to explain with words. The broth allowed for all the ingredients to shine and at the same time every sip made me want to have another. Certainly a repeat type of establishment.

The location on Farwell is currently closed due to a fire so we went to the location inside the Crossroads Collective Hall across the street. The building is set up like a food hall with different vendors. There were about 4 vendors and a bar insid. Kawa was one of them. You place your order at the counter or table which we didn't realize until after we already ordered from the counter. They had limited menu to accommodate the space. I was visiting my son at UWM and we ordered 2 Hellfire ramens (med spicy option). My sister ordered the miso soup, takoyaki, and tuna rolls. The presentation of the ramen was delicious. However, the noodles had the same texture of instant ramen which was so disappointing then the flavor of the broth was equally disappointing. Honestly there's a flavor that was off-putting.....almost like a hint of dish soap. I thought it was the bamboo shoots because sometimes they can be strong but it wasn't. Maybe it was the spice they used.....like hot oil of some kind. The egg was good though.....not overcooked like some ramen places but not enough to save the ramen overall. Now moving on to the sushi and takoyaki. The takoyaki didn't have enough mayo and the size was too small. The sushi was also not impressive but then again maybe a better presentation could have improved it. We do eat with our eyes first.Overall, the ramen were a hard pass and the rest was just okay. They're a bit pricey for the portions. The ramen was $17! I have no problem paying that amt if they deliveredbut they unfortunately didn't. We're from Chicago which has some of the best ramen places in the Midwest like Wasabi in Chicago and Chicago Ramen in Des Plaines and the new one in Wheeling (Des Plaines location is better though and maybe because the other one just opened up). I'll edit my review if they improve the areas I've addressed if I go back again. I would like to be fair and give second chances especially if they currently have a 4.4 rating. Hopefully their original restaurant reopens soon!I don't see the option where I can upload pics like I usually do :-(

This restaurant is connected to other restaurants and has a wide open array of doors. Despite all the open doors and the open concept inside, you quickly pickup on a fishy smell as you walk in. Not good for a sushi place. The counter presentation was sloppy and dirty. I didn't know where to order and if it was open. The miso soup is tasty. The salmon in the salmon roll was the freshest fish they had. Although the seaweed used to wrap the salmon roll was extra thin and it fell apart when I tried to eat it. The Alaskan roll smelled fishy and had a fishy taste. The Golden Dream roll had a fried chicken and boiled egg flavor. And the Amazing roll had a smoked flavor that wiped out the shrimp tempura taste. The chopsticks were flimsy, our soy sauce was limited to three packets each, and the ginger was old and tasteless. The food is over priced and the quality is not where it needs to be. I don't recommend and will not return.

so yummy, takoyaki came out fresh, smaller than i expected but super flavorful. finding kawa was a bit tricky since one of their locations was closed down, and one was impacted by a fire. nonetheless it was worth the hunt! our broth was rich and creamy, i love when ramen places have eggs that are runny, but not boiled all the way
