Must go for the atmosphere! Good variety of food. There is a combination platter that lets you have a little of the major options. Have a look on the walls of the corridor leading to the WC, there are a lot of signed pictures from famous people.

This place has an old school German decor which is an experience in itself. The staff are friendly. I enjoyed the breaded pork (schnitzel) but was not a fan of the spatzle, it was very bland. It came with sauerkraut that was very tasty. The pretzel roll was amazing! I highly recommend, it is on the appetizer menu. Overall the rest of my party enjoyed their food, too.

Pricey but good German cuisine and dining ambience. We had the Rouladen and the Weiner Schnitzel and both were very good.

Unfortunately we only had a short stop at the bar. When I asked about the origins and history of the house, the friendly waitress gave me a booklet - thank you very much.I drank a wholesome “New Glarus” beer, which unfortunately is only available in the state of Wisconsin.

Not what it once was. As a native Milwaukean, no trip home is complete without a trip to Mader’s. Unfortunately, based on our recent experience, it will be our last trip.We ordered pork schnitzel and beef rouladen. The pork was thin and dry. The rouladen weighed perhaps 4 ounces and was dry. The spaetzle which accompanied each entree was overcooked and needed seasoning. The bill for our party of three was more than $150. No cocktails, wine or dessert. Very disappointing.

Currently sitting at a so-called German restaurant witout basics like a bread basket. No soup/salad. Server is MIA. No choice of sides with entree. They are clearly coasting on a reputation.Last time I'm coming here.Terrible.

I met my friends from Chicago here as it was described as Authentic and fun. As I walked in, the decor was a lot of mosaics spread around the room. Each one a different scene telling a visual story. We showed up around 1. :00 p.m. and the place was moderately busy. The restaurant was accommodating because we were 10 minutes late as a group. With the waitress seated and made sure to take our drinks immediately. The menus were just two pages with pictures for reference of the popular items. There were a lot more entree options than sandwiches or bar food options. We ordered appetizers and some salads as this was a light lunch and a get-together amongst old friends. The Table Bread, so we were offered bread and it did not disappoint. It was a pretzel loaf and it was definitely a highlight. Each of us had a different type of alcoholic beverage. I had a beer. My friend had wine and my other friend had a casamigos mixed drink. Everything from the bar was fantastically, well presented. After this point of ordering, we were able to enjoy some time engaging in conversation without interruption. Though we did notice long periods of time in between appetizers/food being dropped at the table and our server from returning for a check up or refresh of drinks. This wasn't her fault as I saw she had quite a few tables and then being Large at that. We did have the dessert (black forest cake). I'm not a fan of cake but I did enjoy this one. I recommend if you are looking for smaller portions stick to the appetizers. Besides that, everything was pretty good. Schnitzel recommended.I will upload pictures soon once I DL them off my SonyParking: On siteWheelchair accessibility: Plenty of ramps

Fantastic food in a beautiful older building. The decor felt authentic rather than kitsch and the quality of the food helped with that. The potato pancakes in particular were marvelous.

The food was ok. I was a little disappointed with my schnitzel and the waitress forgot the soup we ordered. I don't like I'll be going back any time soon.

Super cool old historic building. The beer is delicious too. My 7yr old sat at the bar and had desert while I had a beer. This place is super cool and the service was perfect.
