I really try to get to State Fair more than one time a year. We are close so sometimes we go just for dinner and music. There are too many things to see and way too many tasty things to try to eat. You can spend time listening to youth groups, finding out about farming, or chatting with an exhibitor about their products. Don't feel like it has to be a full day. The Wisconsin State Fair is a good place to get drunk, eat cream puffs, listen to music and walk around, in any order. It's a lot less dumpy than what I remember as a child, so that's nice. (Usually it goes the other way, and the streets of nostalgia are paved with gold!) It's similar to the Minnesota State Fair with some differences: + More beer, less food.
