It was around 9:30 pm and my friends and I were searching for a place to eat. We looked up and this place was still open. As we walk in, there was the bartender and one other person giving us dirty looks as we walk in. We are all nice kids and we’re just looking for a place to eat. We sit down to order food and the bartender gives us more dirty looks for ordering water. After we order our drinks, she tells us “just so you know if your here to order food our grill turns off at 9” We were very nice and said “oh i’m sorry, we didn’t mean to waste your time. She then replies with “you won’t be wasting my time because i’m not turning the grill on”. We left after that and will not be returning after being treated like that.

I’ve seen comments about the owner being rude or short. Hard disagree! As a Bostonian, I just found her honest, and efficient with her sentences ?. Definitely countercultural to the Midwest though. She knows that her place is great, and she doesn’t need to prove it! She’s the only one working. Serving drinks, cooking, cleaning tables, waiting. Honestly impressed. Burgers are amazing, but the broccoli bites were incredible. Super cheap too. Cool atmosphere. Definitely a great place to stop!

Hard to rate. The burger was great, but the personality of the owner/cook ruined the experience. She was scary and so unwelcoming. One unhappy person. Arrived at 12:30 and not a sole in the bar. Well we found out why. We won't be returning.

Convenient location just down the street from the Mineral Point Hotel. Not just an ordinary bar - nice tables and comfortable atmosphere. The cruiseburger was definitely a good choice. Full bar service and NA beer too.
Mean lady, Mean Burger. Quite literally the best burger that I’ve ever had. The owner was running the bar, cooking the food, taking phone orders and cleaning. Cruise’s has been in operation for 30+ years and the grill that made the burger has been there even longer. If you’re looking to make friends, this isn’t the place to be; if you’re looking for the best burger of your life, this is the place to be. The “rude attitude” served the experience well, it was unique and allowed us to step out of the common dining experience. Cash only.

Comfy and clean (sanitized!) bar with a friendly atmosphere. Awesome down home bar food with cheese curds to die for! Burgers were outstanding! Owner, cook, and bartender Cathy does it all! Just be sure to read the signs (order at the bar, leave your dirty plates on your table, do not take them up to the bar.) And be advised this place takes cash only, but there is an ATM on site. I will definitely be back.
