Happy wok has been one of my favorite Chinese restaurants for as long as I can remember. They have some of the best fried rice. Happy wok will always be my go to when it comes to Chinese food.

The food wasn’t what i expected. After wait almost 20 minutes. I thought the food gonna be good. But nope. I ordered the pork fried rice. But this looked like dough with gray pork. Terrible.

DO NOT EAT HERE. This place was substandard for food quality AT BEST and the people that work here are RUDE LIARS. We ordered carry out tonight. A FAMILY SIZED honey chicken. It came with 4 chicken strips, TWO PIECES of broccoli and less than one cup of rice. When I called to complain, the idiot insisted he had had no orders of honey chicken family size that night. HE LIED. I gave him the order number. I gave him the phone number. We had only picked it up 5 minutes ago. Nope. No orders. When I protested he insisted. So I drove back food and receipt in hand. And showed him the portion. He insisted it was the same family size "they've had for THIRTY YEARS". Again a lie. Since we've been ordering from here for the last 8 years the SAME ORDER I am confident of this statement. The food was always subpar. Usually they would mess up the hot sour soup (ask for no mushrooms get a bowl full of them). We carry out or have delivery because of how disgusting the dining area is. But for how minimally acceptable (shoot-we need dinner-let's order in) the food is the service is even worse. Your best bet in Monona is frozen dinner PF Chang entrees at Pick N Save. Skip these a holes.

Good food, I just had a beef with broccoli combo, well priced and came with a drink. I’ve been to a lot of Chinese places around the Midwest, and worked for one in my home town. But the egg roll I got with my combo was actually perfect. It’s an easy thing to throw on the menu, but it’s rare to find one this good. Although I had simple food, it was done right and filled me up with leftovers. Only critique I’d have is that dine in doesn’t have music playing, but otherwise the atmosphere is good, & they have nice art hanging/for sale within the dining area. Overall deserves a try!

First and foremost let me say that this Happy Wok is nothing like the Happy wok on American Parkway east side at all, totally different almost like a knock off to that Happy Wok if there was such a thing, American Parkway is amazing this place as this place in Monona don’t need to be called the happy wok cause nothing from there was happy. HELP!!!!!! IT NEEDS HELP AND PRAYERS AND MAYBE THE HEALTH DEPT! if I could take away stars I definitely would, upon walking in the smell was very overwhelming with what idk but not inviting, got my food and got home all to find the bag was leaking everywhere which got all over everything one of the soy sauces had burst and the lid on my cashew chicken was leaking which both together created a putrid smell, not to mention upon getting everything opened the smell kept getting worse as I went not better in any one of my dishes, and then sent me with the wrong food, I ordered egg fried rice got brown mush rice, ordered chicken cashew got idk what that was, ordered sesame chicken and lo mein and found soy sauces spaghetti noodles and weird brown almost a burnt brown color on my sesame seed chicken which smelled of heavy vinegar weird I already know. Crab ragoon still frozen chunks in the middle which where very watery when opened, and last but not least when I called about this, the lady said oh I let you talk to the owner, which then said oh you must have ordered the wrong thing and I’m like nope order same thing all the time from any Chinese restaurant and nothing has ever been so bad in all my life and that’s saying some stuff, so took it back and they gave me my money back all to find i was 5$ short in which the owner took the money from his wallet to give me anyways not the register or nothing, very bad business owner and help as at this rate the taste and smell of this food well I would not recommend or ever consider to go back. DONT waist your time as it’s not worth it there is plenty of other authentic places to try.Parking: There is plentiful of parking places and that there should have told me why there was plenty of parking places, cause nobody was there.

Best chinese food ive ever had, the sizes dont look crazy but then you get you food and theres way more than you expected so thats awesome and it was also under 20 bucks for 2 meals worth of pepper steak and veg fried rice with crab rangoons and a drink!!! Amazing! Also extremely nice staff, they are alwys ready and always polite.

the only thing i like from this place is the fried rice. The ham fried rice specifically. But the last two times I've had it, the ham has been old. This was a few months ago and today. This can only mean they refuse to buy fresh ingredients. Don't freeze your meats or keep them til they're green. You can smell it as soon as you open it, look at its pale color, and you can for sure taste it. Its sad because its actually really good when the ingredients are fresh.
