I went with a large group to celebrate two birthdays, one of them being my own, on a Sunday night. I had been to this restaurant before, and did not think the food was worth the price, but decided to give it another try. After my experience, I realized that my initial evaluation was correct, and I will not be returning. I ordered the fajitas, which had a decent flavor, but were dripping in oil and grease. I agree with other reviews that the beans and rice were rather flavorless. The tortillas that came with the meals were genuinely pitiful, floppy, and had the texture of being microwaved. For how costly the meals were, I expected a higher quality. As for the service and atmosphere, the waiter was nice, but mistakes were made regarding our meal and what we ordered. We were seated at a large table next to the bar, and the entire time we were eating, our waiter and a fellow waitress were touching, smiling, and flirting with each other quite literally directly next to us. It was weird and made us highly uncomfortable. The staff overall were very inattentive, and there was a point in our meal where we noticed the entire front-of-house staff sitting around the bar and front area lounging on their phones. I don't necessarily care that they had downtime, but the fact that they were surrounding us ruined the atmosphere entirely. I hope I'm remembering incorrectly, but I also recall seeing one of the staff members taking two shots behind the bar. If I were the owner, I would be highly concerned with the blatant disregard for customer service from the staff, as well as the poor quality of food. Lastly, regarding payment, my party separated our checks to pay the bill. One of us only ordered a single beer, and the cost came out to almost $8. When they checked to make sure it was only the beer they were being charged for, the waitress clarified that they had been charged a mandatory 20% gratuity fee. Generally, I can understand a gratuity fee for large parties, but with the low quality of food and service we had received, the 20% gratuity was absolutely NOT deserved. Overall, I feel as though I made a horrible mistake in choosing this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. Would NOT recommend.

I have eaten several times in house, always fantastic! I decided today to take it togo. Literally 5 minutes away. Everything was COLD! Not even room temperature. Everyything tasted yummy but would have been excellent if hot. Not sure I will do carryout again. At least my lettuce was not wilted... ?

2nd time there, again, great service and awesome food at a reasonable price. My son had the Tropical Pineapple that was impressive. A half Pineapple filled with shrimp, chicken, chorizo, and veggie.

It is a terrible service, it is supposed to be a Mexican restaurant and the people who work there do not respect Mexican people ?

Great food and portions. Returned in Feb. 2024 to give it another try after very high up charges for additional tortillas and sour cream. Second visit was much better, including the service.Jim

Clean and nice place, food lacked of flavor and quality, I ordered 3 tacos and it looked like the meat has been reheated more than twice, super dry and crispy, wich it shouldn't be and when I bought it to my server's attention she said, "I didn't cooked the meat". How nice, I guess you get what you pay for since food is dicently priced.

When I arrived I took a seat at the bar and the bartender was quick to take my order for a margarita, which was pretty good. The fee salsa had little flavor but the chips were pretty good. The enchilada and tamale combo I ordered arrived quickly, however the whole meal seemed like it just came out of the microwave. Overall i thought the price was a bit too expensive for food you can get better at an authentic taqueria for the same price.

We visited El Charro, Verona on Valentine's Day, 2024 for lunch. I'd never been here before & the location is convenient, no wait to be seated & the menu had plenty of selections, including vegetarian fare.I had the Speedy Gonzalez off of the lunch menu for $9.95 & my companion had a vegetarian #1 (bean enchilada, bean chalupa & bean quesidilla with beans & rice (extra charge >$6 for the latter.) My enchilada I ordered with black beans & the beans were COLD. (Not warm, refrigerator COLD.) The rest of the enchilada was hot & topped with a nice mole sauce. My taco was good & very the flavors were very fresh. The Vegetarian #1 of my companion was "okay." There were different sauces on his dish & he said only the mole was very tasty. We had Modelo 16oz on tap - a nice option! Our server was congenial, prompt, thorough & friendly. The environment is nice, we could converse, felt private in a booth by a window & overall it was a nice dining experience. The food was, in my opinion, average.

Went on a Friday night, and while my tacos were good (rice and beans were, too) - our service was...not great. When I asked for a drink menu, I was asked what kind of drink I wanted, and not given a menu. Jalapeño margarita was watery and tasted like some sliced jalapeños were thrown in.We felt rushed through our meal by our waitress, and wish you could get three different types of meat with their taco platter. Parking can be full on a Friday night, but even with that, we didn't have to wait for a table, which was nice.Burritos were HUGE and looked delicious!
