Service was slow had to take my dinner to go.... told the waitress very clearly I am allergic to tomatoes.... please no tomatoes of any kind and like I said I didn't get to eat mine, when I got home and was able to eat it.... diced tomatoes everywhere. Had to throw it out....?Dietary restrictions: There aren't any ad far as I could tell.... asked for no tomatoes and it was loaded with them

Had the fisherman's chowder. Was the best I've ever had. Haven't tried the cheese curds but I've heard them are great also.

Enjoyed lunch on a Friday afternoon. Bar had great decor, good selection of music, great drink choices and delicious food. Only downfall was they didn't have peanut butter whiskey. My husband enjoyed the tap beer selection. Simple menu with traditional Irish food. Not busy at the time so good came out quickly piping hot. Great flavors, fries were cooked perfect and townie tots with some kind of garlic sauce drizzled on top will be ordered again, so good. Barbecue sauce had great flavor. Impressed all around.

I had the Fisherman's Chowder and it was very good. My son had the lobster mac and cheese and he really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back.

Were in town for the weekend and came in for a drink and ended up staying for dinner and after. The vibe is so fun and friendly, great selection on the menu, very good food and the folks at the bar - both staff and patrons were fabulous. Great spot to hang out with friendlies to have a cozy moment and enjoy the atmosphere. Our bartender, James was amazing - came up with delish unusual concoctions. And music by Carmyn was also fabulous. Highly recommend this warm, friendly and upbeat spot.

The food was good and the prices were reasonable. The service was adequate but not outstanding. I thought the menu might be a little bigger, given the positive comments I've heard about the place.

We live 5 hours south of Wasau and visit the area for ski trips a few times a year. One of the first places we stop after checking into a hotel is Malarkey's. Now, don't misunderstand this review as someone who hasn't had good Wisconsin food and cheese before, but Malarkey's does it up right. Everything we've ever eaten here has been absolutely delicious, and we can't find anything better for pub fare style food. The cheese curds themselves I can't stop thinking about for days after getting back home. Heck, I'm writing this review two weeks after last visiting because the Malarkey's cheese curds were on my mind!In addition to the food, the atmosphere and service is rock solid. Every time we visit, Tony greets us and remembers us from visiting before. I'm not sure how he does it because we only have a chance to visit a Wasau a couple times a year, which usually ends up being about 5 or 6 Pub stops. This is our go-to spot for drinks and food. It's the first place we get food when we get into town, and the last place we eat before leaving for back home.

Malarkey's is a treasure for night life in Wausau & also has amazing food. I've had great times here with family/friends over a meal as well as at night with friends. Can't miss.
