I love the Mint. Whenever I'm in Wasau I make sure to stop in because it is one of the last true, old school diners around. The place has history. Their breakfast used to bowl me over but this time the eggs seemed to be powdered. I could be wrong, but they just weren't the same. Came back the next day for dinner and the chicken and stuffing was just as delicious as I remembered. The place is always buzzing with the locals and it's write in the heart of downtown so you can do a little walking after your meal. Come enjoy a small slice of Americana.

Great slice of Americana in downtown Wausau! Our server Daisy was spectacular, very attentive and made us feel at home. Our food was classic diner fare, prepared perfectly and very tasty! Got to chat with Joe the owner as. If you haven't tried the Mint, what are you waiting for????

So I came in because I'm always looking for a good place to eat. Quite often it’s less than stellar. Not here. Not only do I recommend here but I will probably make the 2 1/2 hour drive here to eat something else. The menu had some great choices but I got the chicken pesto sandwich. It was so tender and tasty. Many other places overcook the chicken so it is dry. Again, not here. I also had the salted Carmel cheesecake and yep, it was great. Can’t wait to come back and try some of the other things on the menu. If you are in Wausau, you gotta stop by. You won’t be disappointed!

Many streets offer free parking and there is a parking garage available near by.
Just had a carry out veggie burger and fries. Absolutely delicious! No, I mean it. It was hot and made with vegetables. You can actually see them. All nicely chopped. For a moment I thought they had sent me a real hamburger burger. But no, this was what looked like the highest of a high-end vegetarians dream veggie burger. Bravo Mint Cafe! Sorry, no photos yet, I ate the whole thing. But will reorder, then add photos.Fries were great too!Vegetarian options: That veggy burger is awesome!
