Water parks? Great. Arcade? Great. *Daytime* staff is awesome. Night time however have no idea what’s going on. I see the Wayne Gym is only open 6 am - 2 pm but there is a sign ON THE DOOR “to get in between 2 pm - 6 am see the front desk”. So I go to the front desk. “We can’t open it due to safety concerns.” Theres no one in there during the day time supervising and the day staff said someone could open it if requested at night. Frustrating experience.

The room was very clean and well-maintained. The parks were excellent and our kids had a great time. We also enjoyed eating at the brewpub. My only complaint would be that appear to be lots of taxes on purchases at the resort and quite a few hidden fees (typical of hotel water parks I think though). However, overall it was a good (albeit somewhat expensive) experience!

Our daughter is 4 years old, the indoor water park was absolutely perfect for her age group. We saw older kids and younger kids enjoying it as well. Big shout out to whomever the lifeguard was that was on duty this past Friday at 10am at the indoor water park with the kids snake slide, he was so patient with our daughter while she was working up her courage to do the exciting slides and he was just wonderful. Smiley and patient and very watchful, truly amazing. Our party booked a total of three rooms, the hotel did a wonderful job of ensuring they were on the same floor and in close proximity. With that said and the reason for my lack of a five star review: the check in process, I paid extra for VIP, upon check in just after 1pm there was only one couple in front of me already with the check in person and I stood there waiting to be checked in not joking for over 20 minutes- in that time two people came up behind the person who was doing the checking for this couple and one of which I overheard was a manager- the manager didn’t even bother to open another computer (three other computer banks were open and not in use) let alone acknowledge me and say we’ll be right with you. That was just a little bit of a let down because you expect a manager to have a higher standard or to at least acknowledge the situation but to not say anything was a bit hurtful. Thank goodness it was me standing there and not my husband- he would have been fuming to see when i honestly say the regular check in line with more than ten couples/families went faster than my standing behind just this one couple who was already in the check in process when I walked in behind them. Anyway, to bullet point- the prices for the rooms were a very good value, the manager who was over the VIP situation at check in could use some retraining perhaps, the pool area was well maintained and clean and actually pretty impressive overall, the luggage carts were well placed and plentiful, all the life guards we met were wonderful but especially the one I mentioned earlier, and the overall location of the hotel was wry convenient.

Is this the best hotel you'll ever stay in? Nope. Is it clean, fairly comfortable and good to sleep in? Yup. We had a few issues with it, but overall it's a decent option for Wisconsin Dells. Cons: - Check-in. Up until then, my husband was impressed with the texts and pre-checkin communication. We did the self-checkin at 3 p.m. (knowing of course the real check-in is at 4). But no prob- got our wristbands and the machine told us we'd get a text when our room was ready. So we went off to enjoy Tom Foolerys. We bought the park pass (and side note, found out our room number during that process since we paid using our wristbands) and enjoyed that for awhile. Then we got our bags at 4 and waited in the lobby for the text. Nothing. By 4:30/4:45 we noticed a huge mass of people waiting with their bags and lining up at the counter. I finally asked a few people close to us if they knew what was going on- apparently the auto-text service wasn't working and everyone was lining up to find their room #. Well, we had our number (due to learning it at the Tom Foolery desk) so we went up to our room and sure enough, we were able to scan in and the room was ready. We never did get that text saying our room was ready- so it was a good thing we asked and it would have been appreciated if staff walked around to tell people what was going on and get things situated instead of guests wandering around and getting confused. - We went to shower that night after using the waterpark and found the shampoo and bodywash completely empty (built in little containers on the wall). I can't believe they wouldn't have checked on that when preparing the room. Long story short- despite several calls and going down to the front desk, it took them 48 hours to get us shampoo/conditioner (they didn't bring bodywash). By then we have gone to Walgreens. So, bring your own shower stuff. - Room cleaning- only twice during our 5 days there did they make the beds. And the second time, we had to wait there for 40 minutes while they cleaned our room (from about 4-5 p.m. when we thought they'd be done by then). I feel like they don't have a great system for cleaning the rooms and do the bare minimum. And weird things too- like we'd come back in the middle of the day and there was a huge bag of bedding in a corner of our room. It was there for 3 days until I saw a cleaner in the hall and asked why it was there, turns out she thought it was ours... so yeah, maybe some better communication and approach to cleaning rooms? - One drawer for clothes- it was a huge room, but one drawer, so yeah, made it hard when we stayed there for 4 night/5 days and maybe wanted some space to put things and not live out of suitcases for the week. - Pillows and mattresses weren't the best- not awful, but mattresses were little springy and in need of some updates. Lots of pillows, but not great ones. Pros: - The resort really was clean and well-kept. Maybe those issues with the room, but nothing to discourage us from saying it's a decent place to stay. - Food. Lots of good dining options. Everything's a bit expensive, but honestly, the times we ate at the resort (the buffet, Ivory restaurant and the Wisconsin Brew Pub next to Tom Foolerys), the food really was good as were the staff and service. - Wristband payment/system was great- super handy to come and go from our room and use facilities (seems like everything except the lockers at the waterpark). - Everything is well-organized for the layout. I did feel bad for anyone staying on the main level in the hall to Tom Foolerys (it's a Quiet Zone but pretty much every group walking by was pretty loud late at night). But overall everything is easy to get to. - Waterparks. The indoor one was great! Outdoor, meh. But we enjoyed it. Wish the Tom Foolery's park pass was included in everything (the "park" itself really isn't great, so feels like it would be an easy thing to include for guests since there's not a ton there that you pay for). - Location, good. We’ve been traveling to Kalahari for 11 years. We really enjoyed our trip this year. We reserved a cabana for our indoor day (because it was going to rain all day and we knew it would be very busy) and we were glad we did! I do wish on inclement weather days hotel guests were given priority for access and seating. For our outdoor day we reserved a table and were really happy with the service. We enjoyed the addition of the reusable cup with free refills, the fact that the wristband is now your room key, and we enjoyed the towel checkin and out (the towels are nicer and there aren’t dirty, wet towels laying all over).

The Kalahari’s water park is soooo much fun!!! My husband and I needed a small get away and we spent a day at he water park. It was a perfect day since it was overcast and raining. So many fun things to do!!

We stayed at the Kalahari in August 2023 in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite. We traveled with our 3 teenagers and the room was spacious and quiet. The beds were comfortable and we received room cleaning everyday. We rented a cabana indoors and had great service. It is a little loud inside, but it served the needs of our family. The service at the Kalahari was top notch. We had issues at the self-check in and someone helped us right away. We were contacted by phone before our trip and made aware of various promotions we could take advantage of. My family enjoyed all the amenities at Tom Foolerys including bowling, the arcade, and ax throwing. We ate at the Brew Pub and thought the milkshakes were awesome. I utilized the spa and was happy with the service. All in all a great family trip. It isn't easy finding a great place to stay for a family of five that also has great service. Definitely will stay again.

We had a wonderful stay. The kids absolutely LOVED the waterpark and we all had tons of fun! It was our first time vacationing in the Wisconsin Dells and can’t wait to go back again. We’ve stayed at the Ohio and Dells Kalahari locations and always have an amazing time.

Check in process was ugly, at 5 pm we finally sent a text to ask where our room assignment was and finally got a response. Check in was 4 pm. Our room in ground level was very musty and smelled like mildew and mold. Finally got room switched a few hours later. Beds/mattress are in need of replacing. Definitely sagging. All the hallways in hotel dirty no matter what time of day. Definitely needed vacuuming. Safe in room did not work. Had the pleasure of staying next to someone who needed to smoke weed on balcony. That smell completely permeated our room.

Check in was a nightmare, could NOT find reservation. Daughter called and reservation could be seen in on system but not the other….reservation system problems! Took over an hour! Room is nice BUT, as up to date as this resort is with everything being cashless, and QR codes to scan for info, there was not a single USB outlet inside that room! Well I guess I’m bad and it’s my fault for assuming there would be USB outlets. Didn’t bring a brick to plug in. But they’ve got you covered here….for sale in their Outpost shop!! Seriously the first place I’ve stayed in the last 3 years that has not had USB outlets.

We stayed at the Kalahari Resort for my daughter's dance competition. My mom and I were excited to splurge alittle and chose the two bedroom, two bath with a living room. We also had two teenage girls with us, we thought having the extra room/space would be nice. We arrived and check in went smoothly. As we got off on the 4th floor we were greeted by plastic coving the floor and what was an obvious construction zone. The hallways were littered with random carts and room contents (TV, carts, patios chairs, etc.) I immediately worried about my mother, who after two hip replacements tends to trip and can have some issues at times if there are trip hazzards. After getting to the room we were just exhausted and wanted to get to bed for the night. We unfortunately didn't get much sleep. Between the noise from the freeway, the building randomly shaking (my daughter asked if there were earthquakes in WI, because it shook that bad!) We were up alot throughout the night. On Friday morning, after finally falling asleep the construction noises started and went on all day, with workers working in and out of multiple rooms, with more congestion and clutter in the hallways. In our opinion lotd tripping/safety hazards. None of us actually slept well because of the road noise, the shaking of the building and some loud bang that happened every morning at about 5:30 a.m. Also, once we saw the room in daylight we noticed there was tape on the walls, like someone had taped balloons or something. This wasn't a huge issue, it just made us feel like the room may not be very clean if they didn't care enough to remove this, as well as finding lots of dust and other stuff that made it seem like they probably only do like bare minimum cleaning between guests. When we addressed our concerns with the front desk about the cleaning, construction and potential safety issues, all they said was "we will let maintenence know." Our total stay was 4 days and 3 nights. We feel that for what we paid we were very let down. Both my mother and I agree that we will never stay here again. Once the room charges, daily resort fees, taxes, etc. are added up its value just isn't here. We were just very let down and disappointed.

Fun family trip and excellent customer service for the most part. They up charged our table at the pool without telling us and we are still trying to get a refund. The room was spacious and comfy but overall needs a sprucing up. Fair warning, this is a loud hotel until about 10pm. It didn’t bother us, but it might bother some

We came for a quick few days during spring break. Check-in was swarming with people but line moved quick with the kiosks. We checked in at 3ish, understanding our room probably wasn’t ready. By 7pm, my husband went to see why we hadn’t yet gotten a room text yet. We were put in Sands, which is a different building and awfully long walk away from the main resort and pool. For this reason alone, we will not be back. This was incredibly too long of a walk for young kids. Had I known this before we were assigned this, I would have requested the resort side. The beds were springy, absolutely awful and need updating. The water park itself was okay, except their staff is horribly trained in handling situations where weight restrictions may be questionable. When a lifeguard shift changed, my child was turned away from a slide she was riding all day because the new lifeguard felt that she was past weight restriction (which she wasn’t). He sent her back down the stairs in tears because she was suddenly “too heavy.” I took my complaint to two managers, who apologized and said they “would talk to him”. I asked what kind of training their staff has in these kinds of situations to not make this so humiliating for a child and I was met with no answer. This ruined the trip for my daughter, and whatever lasting memories she will have of this place. Another reason we will never come back to this resort. For this to be so expensive, I was looking for the wow factor that sets it apart by 2 neighboring competitors. We were left disappointed in the room location situation and the fat-shaming of my young daughter. We’ll take our business back down the road.

Overall a fun family adventure. Check in was a little long but fine. Room was perfect ground level right in between water park & Tom fooleries. Cute shops and snacks, all expensive of course. Everyone had a great time but two things will make us never return. 1. Cashless. This is our NUMBER ONE reason we will not return. I find this to be an absolute pain in the butt. They did have a machine you could change cash into a card but that also was a pain. It’s completely annoying for people that still believe cash is best. Charging a couple bucks here and there and there is ridiculous and we couldn’t even give the kids a few bucks here and there because they simply don’t take it. We will be going back down the road to our original water park spot. 2.Water park-needs to be expended or upgraded. Pools were murky. It’s stuffy, crowded and not spaced out correctly-not returning a towel before 9 gets you a 25.00 fee! Not my cup of tea

Our party consisted of two families, four adults, and four children ranging from 9 to 12 years of age. We had a 3-bedroom waterfront cottage. It's about a five-minute drive to and from the main property. Upon arrival we had to wait about 30 minutes to check in, you could skip this process if you only had a single payment via the self-check-in kiosk. At check-in we were given eight generic white wristbands, four were preloaded with the "stay and play " package for Tom Foolery. The front desk staff did make sure to separate the bands for us. The cottage itself was clean upon arrival. There is a first-floor full bathroom off the entryway. We did not use the said bathroom for showers as it was extremely cold. The kitchen and dining area were large and open. Note our cottage did not have things like baking sheets, juice pitchers, or mixing bowls. Perhaps other units do, we ended up running to Walmart to grab a few basic kitchen items. The kitchen leads into an okay-sized living area with a fireplace that was more for look than feel. The sliding glass door overlooking the beach was extremely drafty which did make the floor of the living room cold. The first level flooring overall was very cold, would recommend slippers if traveling in the colder months. Upstairs was a king master bedroom with a large 3/4 bathroom and a balcony overlooking the lake. A bunk room with four twin bunks. A large full-size bathroom and another large bedroom with two queen-sized beds. The kids loved having their own space. We had the double queen room. The beds were uncomfortable, the pillows are like rocks. They provide no extra blankets in this unit. My recommendation brings pillows from home and if you're going in colder months bring extra blankets if you like to be cozy on the sofa etc. Our room had one window with blinds and a large window without, which made sleeping in or napping difficult. Hot water was hard to come by, it was like it was on a timer. If you tried to shower, wash dishes, etc before 9 am you were lucky to have lukewarm water. The same thing for at night, showering was almost impossible unless you're a fan of cold showers. Being so far away from the main resort we just dealt with it, something to keep in mind. Overall we would stay in the waterfront cottage again. Having the ability to make breakfast, and dinner is a big money saver. It's large enough that it never felt like we were on top of each other, and it's quieter which was nice for chill time. Waterpark in general was fun. We never had too much trouble finding an open table to leave our stuff at, nor did we feel unsafe about leaving our stuff unattended. We did every last slide they had to offer. Thursday they did not have the park at a warm temperature and the water itself was cold, we noticed that Friday and Saturday it was much warmer. Friday morning we brought in our metal water bottles and some snacks. My son and I have to be gluten-free and they do not offer much in the way of allergy-friendly options (salad and a gf pizza). This location did not check our bags the entire stay, we did not go out of our way to flaunt our snacks, and we did purchase food for the others at our party. Food in the waterpark is pricey. We did enjoy the swim-up bar one afternoon, again drinks were expensive. Slides are not open all day, they break them up but again lines were never super long. Flowrider had the longest wait but the kids in our party were able to go multiple times. They offer surf lessons at 9:45 am and 6:45 pm. which two of our kids enjoyed. You can get into the waterpark before 10 am. It seems that you could get in around 9:30 but slides did not start running until 10 am. Brew Pub: Friday we did enjoy happy hour here. The drinks and appetizers are decently priced but only during happy hour. The kids got specialty shakes which were pricey but HUGE! The bartender was not friendly, he wasn't rude just seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else. We also stopped in for a drink on Saturday and try to hit them up during happy hour to save
