This place freshly prepared everything from the food to the beer!

Wonderful place through and through! All of the beers I tasted were delicious and unique, you can tell the owner/brewmaster puts a lot of thought and care into each recipe. Similarly, the food menu is also unique, with lots of options you don't see very often (or ever!) such as a pickle pizza, Old Bay wings, and various other fun sandwiches and pizzas/flatbreads.The staff was all super friendly, helpful, and genuine. I was just a visitor to Charles Town but they made me feel like a local, and the overall environment inside was just warm and inviting. I also loved that they had hand sanitizer readily available on the bar, as well as outlets (standard and USB) to charge one's phone after a long day of hiking. Will surely be back! ?

Best selection of quality brews in the tri-state area!

I was super impressed by the quality... Small place with a big heart and great taste for beer! Had their old bay wings in between sampling several beers and it was a great snack too... I hope to try their pretzels next time as I could smell it from the people next to me

Abolitionist Ale Works is the cure for all that "ales" you! Whether you need a great spot to take the family for pizza or a place to leave your troubles behind, these folks have you covered. From distinctive brews and vino to a wide variety of personal pizza options to the excellent music acts and juke box, there's never a dull moment at AAW!

Love this place! Their outdoor patio in the back is PERFECT for warm days/nights. The pizza is good, the service is great and their beer is tasty and refreshing. I enjoy their different dining areas and am so glad to have a place like this in downtown. The owners are quality people and worth supporting. I highly recommend!

I'm here all the time for cans and to eat in! They have a great selection of beers, with a good amount of seasonal variety. A lot of times it can be hard to decide what to get because it's all so good! The pizza is very tasty too, I have several favorites. Do yourself a favor and stop in if you haven't!

What could be better than craft beer flights and pickle pizza??? How about pairing it with some of the friendliest staff and great seating options!! You can watch downtown Charles Town from the front windows or smoke a cigar on the back patio. The selections are excellent and rotate often, giving locals and visitors a great experience every time. Stop by for good music and the chance to beat your table mates at the ring toss. Have a Dirty Beard beer if it’s on tap - you won’t regret it!

One of my favorite breweries in WV and the BEST in the eastern panhandle!Super friendly & knowledgable staff, laid back atmosphere, and unique (and generous!) beer flight options. Their robust beer list is constantly being updated and has something for everyone. Also has options for growler fills. ??You definitely wanna try their pizza! ?

Great local place. Love the flights. Fig and pig pizza is my go-to.

Pizzas were delicious. Draft list was extensive and seasonal. We enjoy funky beers, so perfect.

The best beer is the Autumn Teason brown ale.It has a rustic amber root beer hue. The nose reminds you of festive fall activities at grandmas house. It tastes like falling autumn leaves. Nutmeg dominates the pallet with the essence of Coca Cola on the back end.

Meh, Another overly pretentious, overcrowded millennial brewery where you wait 15 minutes for a beer and they try to make you feel lucky that they allowed you to give them money. Unless you come here to sit with 20 year olds pretending to be beer wonders, pass it by. Btw, asked for an 8 ounce beer got a 4. Deaf as well

Enjoyed our time here. Our server Hanna was fun, helpful, and did such a good job on her 2nd day of working here. The food was very good. We had the Caprese and Chicken Florentine sandwiches on naan bread. Yummy! Our very favorite were the pretzel rods though. We liked them so much we ordered more and took some to go for our road trip. The beer was not my favorite but you could have a 4 oz. and it was only $3. My husband enjoyed their Cabernet wine. Glad we chose to go here while in the area.
