We tried to go to Sumittra for lunch on a Saturday, but they were closed to eat-in dining (carry out only)…on a Saturday! Needless to say, we walked out. We’d been there once before on a Saturday evening and dined in, so not sure what the story is with this restaurant. The food was very good, but not sure I’ll be back with the inconsistency. Very disappointing.

The coconut soup was fantastic! An all time favorite for me! The crab rangoon has real crab in it!!! I was very very pleased and cant wait to have it again!

Summitra has amazing food! They offer a great menu and they are not afraid to be authentically spicy. Thank you!! Eggplant Madness is my favorite dish. I only have one complaint…..please open your dining room again. We miss the great atmosphere and camaraderie. Either way, this is fantastic Asian cuisine and a must visit!

TAKE OUT ONLY- owner has run as take out for 6 months. Google didn't warn me. It would have been nice to sit down after a long drive. That being said- the thia was really good. Service was friendly and very fast. Great place for take out. Hopefully will open dine in for future. Looks like there's lots of seating.

The food we ordered was excellent. Left off a star because there is no in restaurant dining offered at this time. I had the Kao Soi and would highly recommend it to anyone.

I originally rated this restaurant with 5 stars years ago, but it has changed. During 2020, I ordered here every other other week in hopes they wouldn't go out of business due to the pandemic. It was consistent every time. First I noticed that the portions got smaller, then the dishes were different every time (losing that consistency). I hadn't eaten there in several months and ordered carry out. I had read in some recent reviews that the food was bland so I asked for some dried pepper on the side, which I was told was no problem, but didn't receive. And yes, a 3 pepper dish was bland. The other dish was good, but prepared and cut differently than the last time. I ordered ahead of time because they used to have often a wait time of an hour and told them what time I would be there, but apparently the food was prepared right away so it sat for an hour. The requested wait time used to be on the ticket, but this had the time the order was called in. I hope they get back to the quality they once had.

Got take out for the first time and was so excited however it was a major let down. For how much the meals cost there is no flavor and certainly no spice.
Charles Town is fortunate to have such a place ?
