We were the only customers in the cafe. It took over half an hour to get our food…2 burgers and a mocha. I think the milk for the mocha was steamed shortly after we ordered, but drink not prepared until just before food was ready….mocha was slightly warm. Burgers were good, but no indication as to which one was vegan…..had to remove the bun to find out…..i did not follow my usual practice of tipping after service…..my mistake.

Stopped by for breakfast as we were passing through the area. Both my husband and I are vegan. The owner offered to make us tofu scramble. I had mine on soft tortillas and my husband had his in a plain bagel. It was so delicious. She added vegan sausage, onions and spices to the tofu. So good. We'll remember this place when we pass through again.

I’m new to the area from California, so I’ve been trying to eat local and try new places to find my favorite spots so I asked a local friend where he recommended and this was where we ended up!
Great café serving excellent and unique dishes with a nice staff. The owner Cathie is one of a kind, and we're so lucky to have Mélange in the local area. Lunch here for a good filling meal.

The area-- located in Downton Charleston. Ive been in search of a boba place and came across Melange on iPhone maps. I'm new to the area and the address was off on there by a couple of blocks but found them thanks to Yelp having the correct address. Service was eh. I got a taro boba smoothie and with it being my first time there I didn't know there's different sizes. It was hard to locate a menu in there for the teas but there was a small chalk board that illustrated some of the different flavors. I wasn't asked what size either, but I should've asked! The size was a bit small. I enjoyed my tea but I took off 2 stars because the boba in there were small & hardened and I couldn't remove them since they're all over the drink, so every other slurp I came across them. I plan on giving them another shot & I'll update then!

I had the vegan island burger and the soyrizo taco combo plate. I'm blown away! As a vegan, it's so great to see the intention and effort put into vegan options at restaurants. Most restaurants will put an obligatory vegan option on their menu but that is not the case for Melange! They really care about the food they are making and serving. The chili flavor in the soyrizo was deep and the tortillas tasted fresh. The vegan island burger had a savory glaze paired with a sweet pineapple slice. I would 10/10 recommend this place. Can't wait to come back!
