I'm a chilli dog fanatic. Got 2 of Sam dogs at the Pennsylvania ave.location. pencil thin dog,chilli had no flavor,mustard was nonexistent. Place was in a sketchy convenant store. Disappointed !

Got 2 hot dogs from the Sam's location in Cross Lanes a few days ago. Normally love Sam's, but this time they were pretty much inedible. They were out of the English buns, , what little sauce was on them tasted old & burnt, asked for onions, there were none, & they must have been low on mustard, because I could barely taste any!!! Very disappointing!!!!!

Pennsylvania Ave. in Charleston WV is my favorite place to get a hot dog when I'm traveling. 5 stars for service and 5 more for food quality.

I love Sam's hot dogs! The last two times I ate there were so disappointed that I probably won't go back! The buns were stale and my food was warm. I'm not sure what's going on with them as they used to be the best hot dogs around:/. As a hot dog lover, this is a great disappointment!

Delicious homemade style dogs. Got em fully loaded. Slaw and chili. Just a basic but simple joy. Reminds me of a gas station hotdog from the south. I mean that in a good way. It's to go. So no seating. That's fine with me. I'd definitely go back. A couple minutes after getting to the side window and your on your way. Get a few if you are really hungry. 2 was not enough...but is 2 ever enough?

WV hot dogs here. Very good for anyone who knows what I am talking about. Nothing like a good ol wv dog with chili and slaw. Thats how I grew up. These hot dog stands are getting sparse so if you see one check them out. Nothing like a WV Hot Dog.
Why go there? I'm a hot dog fan. I ordered a dog with chili, slaw, mustard and onion. I was the only one in the place, 5 PM on a Friday. It doesn't take much to please me. The buns were a little stiff and the dog was kind of cold. If you are in the restaraunt business and have one or two items that you focus on, perhaps they should be prepaired thoughtfully and and fresh. I lived in Montgomery and understand the chili slaw dog concept. This clearly missed the mark.

Stopped here on the way to Myrtle Beach based on Yelp reviews and because we like to try local places when we travel. Hot dogs with everything means mustard, chili, and coleslaw. They have hot or mild chili and the hot was not terribly hot. Interesting combo but they were tasty and the grilled buns made them seem special. This is definitely a hole in the wall but it was easy to get to off the interstate. The clerks were very friendly. Took off one star because my boys did not like the hamburgers here (I know, don't get a hamburger at a hot dog place). The hamburgers are made on the George Foreman grill and were just okay. Also, you can only get chips, no French fries served here.

I stopped at this little place based on the Yelp reviews and do have to say it was pretty good. The blacked out door in the back was actually a poker palace, not a porn palace although I the ladies there can sling wieners with the best of them. They work so fast, I didn't even see the wieners disappear into the bag. If this is the type of service you need, want, or desire, Sam's is wiener heaven. They got burgers and chicken salad too.
