Loved the outside decor with giant animals and a real smoker. Inside decor is great. Rustic, classic, weird (a bbq restaurant with an aquarium??). Our hostess/waitress was super friendly and responsive. My son and I both got pulled pork sandwiches which were delicious. Moist, not a huge amount of meat and very mild smoke but good sauce. The mystery dipping sauce for the crispy housemade chips was a strange mixture. Our waitress didn’t know what it was but it kind of seemed like blue cheese dressing mixed with ketchup. Super sweet tea! Very light crowd early on a Sunday afternoon. Loved it, would definitely go again.
Disappointed in some of the food we ordered. Some was good some wasn't..mac n cheese was excellent..mashed potatoes and gravy not good, greens are not good at all, ribs ok, didn't come off the bone as easy as they should have. I'm sure there's a lot of things on the menu that are to die for. It was my first time.

We don't eat at Barnyard BBQ very frequently due to the fact we live on the eastern edge of Charleston & it's a bit of a travel distance just to go eat out. However, whenever we are in Teays Valley we enjoy going there & find the food is usually very good.Hubs & I enjoy both the pulled pork & the brisket sandwiches alot. They're not dry but also not swimming in a spicy BBQ sauce like some other places serve. The homemade potato chips are thick & crisp, and the dill pickle is a real mouth-puckerer! The sweet tea is usually good, although it could be a little bit stronger impo. From what I've seen of other people's plates, all the food looks equally good & portions are a good size. Next time we visit, I think I'll try the smoked chicken salad, which looked huge & delicious!As far as the service goes, we've never had any problems either getting seated where we prefer OR getting served our food. One of the current online reviews complains about being seated at a table too near the kitchen window & hearing arguments among the kitchen staff. Well, speak up if you're not happy with your seating location or your food... don't just suffer in silence and then piss 'n moan pout about it online later!! We've always found the staff more than willing to relocate us to a quieter spot or do whatever was necessary to rectify any problems with our food selections.Parking: Parking at the front door with an additional parking lot around back.Wheelchair accessibility: There is plenty of available space with moveable tables that can be rearranged as necessary.

Waited over 45 minutes for drinks, food, and appetizers… Burgers were dry, bbq was dry, appetizers came out after the food, empty drinks most of our time there. Never even got a refill. A party came in after us and was made priority. A couple came in 20 minutes after us and got there food 10 minutes before we did. Found MULTIPLE BLONDE HAIRS in our food! Definitely wasn’t ours because we both are brunettes. This was our first and will be our last time there. Definitely put a sour taste in my mouth… Was not worth the money we paid.

I just need to say, eating inside is ok. Do NOT order take out/to go. EVERY time i order to go, my order is wrong. On 1/20/24, i called in an order and ask for 1/2 rib, corn, and mac n cheese, a philly chicken with onion and mushrooms, NO GREEN PEPPER, and a juicy lucy w/cheese only. We got 2 mac n cheeses with platter and my philly sandwich had gr. peppers and no mushrooms. If you can't do it that way, TELL ME WHEN I CALL. It's never been a problem ordering when we eat there. I get that you needed to close up early (8 pm) as no one was there and something was wrong with an employee's car that needed fixed (karma?), but get the order correct for take out! We don't want to have to come back (not that we could)..smh. You do write it down, do you not? Needless to say, it will be a long time before we go back.
Our server was Amazing. The best BBQ I've had since arriving in West Virginia ? The Brisket and Pulled Pork, were both Tender and Juicy! ❤️ The Fried Cabbage/Redskin Potatoe Salad just ?... Highly recommend trying the Vinegar/Dry Rub Sauce, it was the Bomb ? ?

Buyer BewareI'd give less stars but there isn't a way to do it. The waitress was not nice she was snappy . When asking about spaghetti sauce for the spaghetti she said there is none it's made individually for each order... I had to laugh. NO restaurant makes individual batches of spaghetti sauce per order, I mean cmon did they think customers would be dumb enough to believe that bull. ? wow. There was a short haired blonde lady that worked there that would've NECER let that BC to go on. Bring her back. We immediately got boxes to feed the junk to our dogs since we paid almost 40.00 for it anyway. She gave us 20% off of the food that was burnt and inedible how nice of the waitress who acted like she inedible the place . When I asked where the blonde lady was she said " I'm the only blonde here, she was here when I first started but she quit since I've been here" wow I'm sure you weren't the reason she quit honey don't flatter yourself or maybe the bad service IS the reason she quit and the bad food being allowed to be served. We will NEVER go back there. It was definitely NOT worth 40.00 we left and went to Captain D's.

I am from out of state. This is my second time ordering from here while visiting over the past few years. The first time was much better (about four stars). But this visit, I ordered a combo with ribs. The ribs had the unpleasant taste of freezer burn (whether that was the case or not). They were totally inedible, which caused me to lose my appetite for everything else as a result. I’ve never been the type to return food, so I’ll count this visit a loss. However, the first visit may yet make it worth one more try the next time I’m in town for a final verdict. See you then.
