I spend several weeks in Central Europe every year and am always disappointed by the American bread shops upon reentry. This year was VERY different. Phoenix Bakery is an oasis of culinary creativity in this University community. Morgantown is indeed fortunate to boast the finest breads bakery in the state, one that ranks well in comparison with shops I frequent in Vienna and Budapest. Oh, and I should mention that the place is managed by first-rate crew. They are courteous, professional folks. Well done!

Nothing can be perfect but this place really tries. Croissants are extraordinary if a little pricey and made with real butter. Pizza is delicious but only available after 4. I drive here once a week past at least 5 other bakeries
