This is the real deal. An authentic saloon operating to this day, but dating to 1880 and the Old West. It is not a re-creation, and, while friendly to out-of-towners, is not tourist oriented but a town watering hole. Didn’t get to taste their food. The waitress and bartender ignored our party of 8 ( the restaurant wasn’t full either) and we left after AN HOUR of being polite and waiting . Waited an hour. Didn’t get served , menus , checked on - nothing.

What a gem. We stumbled in here for a bite to eat on our way through and had excellent food with fantastic live music, compliments of David Stewart. The bison burger was simple perfection and my partner loved his chicken fried steak. The place itself is a smorgasbord for the eyes, with old photos and fun taxidermy all around. Stop in if you have a chance.

The stars I did give are for the history and atmosphere. It is worth a stop in to look at the location. It appears as though locals get good service here. Food was ok. I would have had another drink but after we received our food we were not even looked at until we were done. My family walked down the street and I sat there for 15mins waiting for the bill (it was not even very busy at the time). Also, a little surprised to see dogs wandering around inside the restaurant (not service dogs). so it is pet friendly. If your looking for dogs to join you for dinner that part may be completely fine... just mentioning it incase you are allergic or prefer eating without animals.

The service here was great and it would be a fine local spot for some spirits but we came in for a meal. Food was lackluster. Great atmosphere and nice staff but onion rings were mushy on the inside. Burger was spartan and side salad was a small handful of greens likely from a bag served on a very small plate. That's it. But really a cool traditional saloon from the old west with a wooden bar and tin ceiling tiles. They do have Musiic and could be fun for a few drinks and music too.
This was a fun place to eat in a historic Saloon. We had a steak and the pork ribs. Both were very good. The wine and whiskey were both nice sized pours.

Staying at this hotel is one of the coolest, most memorable things I have ever done. Was like stepping back in time to the 1880’s. Highlight of a very memorable cross country road trip I am on with three friends. We can’t stop talking about it.
