“We had a seafood platter and the Not So Philly Cheesesteak. The seafood platter came with a small and tasty dinner salad, the rest was typical deep fried diner fare - shrimp, fries, etc. All was tasty. The hushpuppies were delicious, and as good as anything you would find in the South. The cheesesteak was DELICIOUS. It contained CHUNKS of steak. The bread was a warmed soft roll. I paired with onion rings which were also good. (Real onion rings, not some extruded goo.) The service was fast, and even though busy, he went above and beyond expectations. He made Arnold Palmers for us. When we asked for a second round, he brought a carafe. Great service. All staff looked to be older, and they were all working hard.“

“Probably one of my favorite local family like restaurants! I got the steak & chicken fajitas and lemme tell ya, SPECTACULAR! The chicken and the steak were juicy and full of flavor! If you're going through Evanston do yourself a favor and stop by Jalisco's! You arrive hungry and leave full and happy!“

“Tonight was our anniversary and glad we chose to celebrate it at Bon Rico. This was our first time and we will be coming back for future date nights and celebrations. The food and service were excellent. We are kicking ourselves for not coming to Bon Rico sooner.“

“Great locals spot with interesting history. Our group of 9 squeezed in and enjoyed some bison burgers. We noticed the license plates on the wall of each state the historic Lincoln Highway passes through. Being from NJ we're planning a new adventure to visit each of them in the future.“

“Great service tonight. We were a large party of 8 and the server took great care of us. We ordered Philly cheesesteaks, fish and chips, blue cheese salads, bbq sandwiches, French dips, fried pickles and cheese curds. The curds were the favorite tonight. Order this as an appetizer you’ll like it.“

“A great restaurant for a night out with the ladies, date night or the whole family. All of the fajita meals are delicious. I particularly like the fajita salad. My last visit I had the steak adobado which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the chimchangas rancheras that tasted perfect. Be aware that the spiciness has been toned down as to not overwhelm the Wyomingites in comparison to food in Mexico, but there is still plenty of flavor.The desserts were just okay. The sauce for the flan was burnt, but the flan itself was good. I am a huge chocolate fan, but even I felt like there was too much chocolate sauce on the fried ice cream which masked the fried ice cream deliciousousness. Ask for them to go light on the chocolate sauce and it should be much better. Oh, the virgin Pina coladas are absolutely tasty!Overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants in Evanston and I always have a good time and a great meal when I dine there.“
