“The food was definitely a 5 star for us. We had the cauliflower Tahini bowl and the chicken sandwich, and both were very special dishes. I really appreciate the inclusion of house pickled vegetables in both. It is one of the pricier places in town but I think that can be justified by the quality of the food. The atmosphere is of course pretty cool, being connected to the Lumel Studios. Though our table being directly beside the washroom was perhaps a bit of a turn off.The service is for us where experience fell short. There was nothing particularly friendly or warm about our greeting at the restaurant. After our food was dropped we were mostly forgotten about. No one came to check how we liked our dishes after our first few bites. And when our entire jug of water runs dry and we sit without beverage for several minutes, that's a big no-no for us. Having to get up to ask the staff for water greatly detracts from the experience.Still, the back of house is definitely creating some real magic and it was a privilege to get to try their food.“
“My true rating for this place would be 4.5The atmosphere is one of the coolest things about this place. It's got a cool dim lighting with eye-catching decor, and fresh flowers at each table. It's definitely a trendy spot to bring a date or a group of friends. The food was very good, above average for sure. But some details were hit or miss. First, I will say that the bison bolognese was one of the best things I've eaten, anywhere. And was very affordably priced for such a sublime and stand-out dish. ($18.) However, my Bahn Mi lacked sauce and seasoning and came on an entirely too stale/hard baguette that was nearly impossibly to bite into. I ended up asking for a steak knife. My side salad lacked dressing (where you feel like you're just eating leaves), so I asked for more. But the house pickled veggies in the salad were a thoughtful and apreciated touch! The bartender is adept in the skills of mixology. I really recommend no zero alcohol Borreal cocktail. It has a not too sweet and herby taste. My husband got the Harlet and he said it was nice and strong. The service was laid back and pleasant“
“Honestly, this place has an amazing ambiance, very insta worthy, and the service is awesome. I left the Yukon to take a job in Calgary and when I returned 10 months later, the waiter not only remembered me but also remembered my "usual". And I honestly do recommend the Pollos Asada tacos. Only thing I wish were better were the price. $30 for three tacos and a drink seems a bit obscene.“
