“I was at the front door when Baked opened up at 7 AM just a few days ago. I had heard that they had great scones (in many varieties) and good coffee. I comfortably sat down at a table by the window and enjoyed both. Why go to Starbucks or Tim Hortons when you have Baked within a few blocks walk? The only distraction was a Zoom call going on a couple chairs down of which both sides didn't seem to care that the whole room could hear what they were talking about. Of course I listened in and yes it was boring. Tip: Bullet Hole Bagels is just a few doors down within the "Mall" here at the foot of main street. Do what I did and make this Montreal-style bagel shop an additional later morning stop. It was a most enjoyable double treat, and an excuse to delay Lunch.“

Midnight Sun Coffee Roasters Coffee Shops • $

“Awesome drip coffee! They offer 4 drip coffees each day: a dark roast, a lighter roast, decaf, and a specialty roast. The coffee is in urns on a side shelf so I could taste each one before deciding on which for the full cup. The coffees were all good (did not taste the decaf), but on the 3rd day the specialty coffee was outstanding. The flavor character and depth is something I generally only find in a big city third wave roaster.“

“The Java Connection is a 5-star gem! The staff are always friendly, the menu is diverse and the food and drinks are always fantastic. We have even pre-ordered lunch for our office (18 people) for pick up right before their lunch rush and they have always been very accomodating. Our orders were ready on time and the food was fresh and delicious. Cindy and her staff are awesome! I highly recommend The Java Connection!“

“Wonderful Tim Hortons. The staff here are so incredibly nice. I’ve had such a bad experience at the other Tim Hortons down the road that I was scared to come here. I was treated completely different here. I usually stop by at the end of the day when they’re close to closing. But they have never rushed me or treated me like I was not welcome. The cashiers are so sweet I enjoy seeing them. I asked for half decaf half hot water, and the coffee that they make me is so incredibly well. It’s a very simple order but you would be surprised at how many Tim Hortons get it wrong . The place is always clean. There’s always a person The tables and the floors. The bathrooms are also impeccably clean. Even at the end of the day they have a good selection of things and unlike many Tim Hortons they will serve you sandwiches and soup up to the last minute. I highly recommend this Tim Hortons versus the one down the road. These are wonderful people who know how to treat their customers well.“

Bean North Panini

“Great coffee but the star of Bean North is their toasted Panini. Who knew you could turn a humble ham cheese and tomato toastie into crack. Seriously, I cannot stop thinking about it ? The Aurora, Takhini hot springs and ice skating on a lake in the Yukon were great, but I’ll go back to Australia dreaming of Bean North’s Crack Panini.Thank you, you have ruined all future toasties ?“

“I can't have a trip to Canada unless I visit a Tim Hortons at least once. I returned to this Tim's during my first morning in Whitehorse a few weeks ago. I would be heading out the the Canol Trail (MP 222) later that morning. Tim's now has a nice selection of breakfast sandwiches of which I enjoyed the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. I took a seat inside and enjoyed my breakfast by the window, while watching the drive through traffic go by. I do agree with a couple of my Canadian friends that the quality and taste of Tim Hortons coffee has seen better days. My coffee black choice brought back Iowa childhood memories of less than robust Folgers in the morning.“
