Riddle me this. Pull up to sonic. Order food. Wait for 20 minutes. Carhop finally gets to us. Hands us all our food. Carhop: That'll be 26.42. Me: Can I please split my payment? I'd like to pay $11 cash and put the rest on my card. Carhop: Let me go ask my manager Me: uhhhhh ok 5 minutes later the kid comes back and says "my manager said you'll have to give that food back we can't take split payments" (as we are literally eating it because we've been waiting so dang long) Me: uhhh I'm not giving the food back. Please send your manager out. Manager: ma'am we can't do split payments. Please give the food back.. Me: I'M SORRY WE'VE BEEN HERE 25 MINUTES AND ARE ALREADY EATING THE FOOD, WE AREN'T GIVING IT BACK. Manager: well fine let me go inside and see what I can do. 2 minutes later a charge for sonic comes up on my phone. I WAIT 5 MORE MINUTES TO GET MY CARD BACK and I only got it back because I walked to the front doors of the store glaring inside. I'm sorry but 30 minutes at sonic is freaking ridiculous. I am usually not rude or short tempered with workers but I worked at Sonic a couple years ago and we could definitely take split payments. This whole scenario was ridiculous but I don't think I'd be so mad if we hadn't waited so long AND IF THEY DIDN'T ASK FOR THE FOOD BACK MULTIPLE TIMES. Pretty sure that's a regular NO NO but especially a covid no no. Good grief.

Terrible service! Consistently it takes 20 min to get orders regardless of what ordered, drinks only included. Not sure if it is lack of management or what, but it is time that they do better.
