The pita bread is unlike any other and perfect with the Cevapi sausages and roasted red pepper sauce....our favorite. And don't forget to try a freshly prepared dessert or two. On our last visit, we were served after the noontime rush and the owner had a moment to sit and visit at our mostly Croation table. She shared with us her passion for creating these dishes and explained how it truly comes from her heart. This is a small family-owned business (she proudly introduced her grandson, son, and daughter-in-law) and exactly the kind of restaurant we enjoy supporting. We highly recommend one of our favorite dining experiences in Phoenix!“

“I have been going here to get some great food for about 23 years. Awesome customer service, always am remebered, and affordable prices. Will always be my go to for a yummy salad, gyro, or pita. They have lots of options. My fav is a steak pita add feta. Their tzatziki is the best and it's the one I compare to with others ... but nothing else has beat it. (Get a side for dipping, so good with the fries!) Thanks for all you do King Gyros!“

“Every time I eat here, I say, "OMG this is my favorite entree!" and it just encourages me to try something new the next time. The food here is authentic but modernized making it super clean and super delicious..always. Their chicken and beef is marinated to perfection - their kabobs are nothing short of amazing. Today I had the Chicago Gyro plate which is perfection. Their french fries are killer and crunchy. The place is bright and clean, great 80's pop music in the background and the server is on his game. They have a rollaway garage door window open when weather permits and they have a couple of TV's with big games playing. It has a really good vibe. It looks family owned which is why they take pride in dishing out great food. The prices are on point for the flavor, generous portions, presentation and super-fast to the table. I always leave here satisfied. OMG EAT HERE!Parking: Parking is okay at best - but not their fault considering how close to the street it is. Pain in the butt backing out and then onto 12th street so close to the stoplight.“

“This place was definitely a find! I had a Gyro plate and a pistachio baklava, both some of the best I've come across so far! Flavor was well executed and the portions were definitely filling. Highly recommend, definitely worth coming back!“

“Popped into the Pita Cafe Express today with my Mom for the first time and it will definitely not be our last. The staff were SO very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was quite amazing. “If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. Small sit down area. Seems that most everyone gets their meals to go. They also have an outdoor seating area.Parking: It's in a strip mall so not a lot of parking but plenty when we were there“

“Grocery store is still open but a fire closed the restaurant portion of the business. Lots of different options in the grocery that you won't find in the regular supermarkets, great place to pick up authentic ingredients to make your own meals at home!“

“We are from California and we stopped to eat dinner at family fattoush tonight and we got surprised when we tried the food that was very very delicious plus the service was awesome too , the owner very nice person and his daughter too , I really recommend the restaurant and the nice outdoor patio area they have with the good vibes.“

“More like 4.5. Lamb souvlaki platter was unbelievable. Included two skewers of lamb, perfectly prepared to our liking, lemon potatoes, yellow rice, and a Greek salad. Great price very generous portion. Will return just for this item. ordered the spanakopita appetizer and unfortunately, the first time it was served to me it was cold inside. The young lady with the nose ring who was super nice had it redone. The issue seems to be that the spanakopita is for made and refrigerated and then it needs to be fried to revive it. So it's hard to get it warm inside. I prefer a non-fried spanakopita or straight from the baking pan. That's why I say this rating is more 4.5 because of the spanakopita issue. But like I said, the young lady was very nice about it. The place was very clean and we ate at the outdoor tables. I like the place and will be back lots of good things to order, especially the chocolate cake that I forgot to order. it will be always on my mind as Willie Nelson might say.“

“The hummus is excellent. I think the best gyro I ever got was in Portland Oregon, these are pretty good though and way better than a handful of the other places I've had around the valley. “You wont find a lot of places like this in america. Most restaurants give you terrible meat with an uncooked pita wrap hoping the overportioned tziki sauce will save the food (it doesnt). These guys actually COOK THE FOOD and USE ACTUAL ARABIC SPICE MIXES. These guys also roast their meat to perfection to where you wont even need sauce. just order a pita, chicken shwarma, and some barberries and you're good to go.Staff is nice too and the environment is extremely comfy during lunch. Been three years since I've been here so I dont have any pictures.“

“I've been coming to this place with my sister since around 2015. Back when I was attending ASU. This restaurant has become a family favorite ever since. Although I have moved to a different state, I always make sure to stop by to eat here when I visit because we all love it! My parents still live in Arizona and also love coming here. The workers and owner are all very kind and hard working. The service is friendly. The food is amazing, very tasty, and always consistent. The atmosphere is great and clean. “What a great experience. First of all, the property is beautiful and everyone from the valet to the hostess to the server was incredibly nice and professional. We started with the CORN BISQUE (Freeze dried corn | creme fraiche | chive) and BABY GREENS (crow's dairy feta | compressed watermelon | persian cucumber | sunflower seed | honey lemon vinaigrette). One of the major sins that restaurants commit is serving soup that is lukewarm. Not here – the soup was piping hot and delicious. The dried corn was a little odd, but that was the chef's choice. The salad was also delicious – the honey lemon vinaigrette had a nice sweet and sour thing going. Excited, we continued to the main course. We started with the SKUNA BAY SALMON (Lemon buerre blanc | corn | scallion | garlic parmesan potatoes | red bell pepper | chimichurri | pea greens) and PASTA ALLA GENOVESE (Rigatoni | short rib & bone marrow ragu | white wine | pecorino). The salmon was perfectly cooked and the parmesan potatoes were delicious. The rigatoni were clearly homemade and considerably longer than a traditional rigatoni. It didn't have a heavy sauce, relying on the deliciousness of the short ribs. While incredibly rich, it was delicious. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert, but they sounded delicious.“

“This sweet little Greek spot is just a walk away from the hospital I go to. There's tables that fit up to 2-4 people per table and it's on the smaller side. The Greek fries were crunchy, tangy and tasty just the way I like them. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and I really appreciate that, it's hard to find good greek spots in AZ this is one of them. The lady at the counter and the cook were super friendly, I'm eating here now and there's no one here but hopefully this place gets busy during lunch and dinner. “I have eaten here a number of times. The owner is of Afghan and Indian descent. The food is great and I recommend the Kabab Combo Plate. They have the best falafel in town and I crave it about once a week. This is our go to for gyros but the rice and falafel are what brings us back.“
