“I can use only one word to describe this place. Amazing! The taste of persian cuisine was splendid. Our waitress, Asiyeh, welcomed us with a smile and has been all friendly. When she heard me dropping my fork, she came all the way from the kitchen, inquiring if I need another set of utensils. Will definitely come back again.“
“My wife ordered take out today.Food is great. Chopan Kebabs tastes great. Lamb chops has unique char-grilled flavor . It's juicy and crispy. I think it's the best lamb chops in town.Assorted kebabs is good. I like the chicken kebabs more.Qabeli Pallow is also good.Good price, good food. Will be their regular customer.“
“My wife tried Mr. Shawarma on Robson last night and after she offered me a bite I had to go back and order one for myself - so good! As well, the personal touch and friendly vibe of the chef and team made my whole trip downtown feel worth it. I will build a trip to Mr. Shawarma into my downtown trips from now on!“

“I'd give it 5 stars if the chairs and seating wasn't so uncomfortable. We waited 35 minutes so some delish food but the seating was just not comfortable, it was a bit pricey too for the amount of food you get but yes 4 out of 5 for sure.“
“I’ve been to Mr. Greek a few times since I’ve moved to the neighbourhood. The staff is really kind no matter what time of day it is and the food is always consistent. Conveniently located by Commercial and Broadway, I would totally recommend Mr. Greek. :)“
“The best food, people, atmosphere, and general experience possible! Tamam is a home more than it is just a restaurant, and it builds a community like no other. The food is authentic and incredibly delicious. Thankful for this amazing place!“
“This food, so fresh and delicious! I have never had Lebanese food before and was absolutely delighted at what I ate. My mouth and tummy are so happy! I have been visiting Vancouver for 6 nights now, and this is the freshest, most flavorful and beautiful food I have had. The service was absolutely lovely as well. Must eat here!“
“If you want to go karkoram either get ample time out of ur life because there service is very bad they are seriously less in staff and the amount of people coming there is huge in numbers because the food was delicious the way I heard specially a friend from Pakistan recommended me to go and we went and my roommate loved it but the waiting period is pathetic there motive is to enjoy and relax but when it comes to food to much waiting also sometimes kill the taste but here one thing for sure happen is that taste for food is delicious which take us to wait“
“Hidden gem in Granville!!!Super nice and friendly service, the food was very tasty and big portions. The best part very reasonable prices! Very clean and modern atmosphere.I really like how the salad that come with their kebab platters is very varied and not your typical lettuce and tomatoe salad. Also the baklava is one of the best I’ve tried. I wasn’t expecting anything special but I’m telling you you won’t regret getting it!!“
“It is a small restaurant that offers fast and excellent food. I am a regular at this restaurant. I ordered a Chicken plate, OMG, I have never tasted hummus like this restaurant, it's soooo good ?, I don't even have words to describe how fresh this taste is. The salad is very fresh, the pickles are the right amount of saltiness, chicken is crispy, pita bread is fresh. I highly recommend this place to everyone to try, and you will be like me, become a regular of this small restaurant ?.“
“Fresh Donair lives up to its 5 star rating. Friendly, personal service and delicious food! I got the chicken wrap. Everything was fresh and the grill on the pita puts it over the top! I will definitely return the next time I'm in Vancouver.“
“my family and I went to the restaurant and sat in the Afghan cushion. The dish was so amazing and delicious and I suddenly decided to call my friends to join us and share our wonderful moments with them. The service was amazing and I was really happy the kind of service that was given by Farhad, he was so kind to me and explained very carefully and impatient about all foods and ingredients. My family and I were really satisfied with all the service,I will definitely choose this restaurant to go one more time.“
“East is East is a magnificent feast for all your senses, period. I was there for a wedding reception over the weekend and I have to say that the only thing that surpasses their culinary marvels, the soothing atmosphere and exceptional warmth of the hostess was the service we received from Lana, our waitress. She navigated through all our requests with unparalleled hospitality and swiftness making us feel at home allowing us to focus on celebrating the newlyweds. How she was able to accommodate our large wedding party with such impeccable grace and care can only be called MAGIC. I never had to worry about “wondering where the waitress went” or “did she hear the order correctly”. Simply put, it was smooth and perfect. Special commendation goes out to the kitchen staff, who kept churning out dish after mouth watering dish almost as fast as we would order it. And if that wasn’t enough to qualify as one of the most satisfying dining celebratory experiences ever, there was also David. His virtuoso violin performances throughout the evening reached deep in to our hearts and were a perfect inspiration to hit the dance floor. Thank you East is East and especially Lana and David for a perfect evening honoring our newly wed couple!! Bravo“
“I moved to Vancouver last June, and can safely say this has been my favourite restaurant experience so far. The service was fantastic, everything arrived to our table in a timely manner & the food was nothing short of excellent. Me and my girlfriend still smile about our experience here! Cannot wait to come back, highly recommend the Baklava & Gelato for dessert!Dietary restrictions: Entirely Vegan!“
“East is East has literally the best chai I’ve ever tasted :))) I’ve been going here almost daily for 10+ years. Lana and Mira are the best managers and I love seeing their faces when I go visit. I’m moving away and I’ll miss them and this place so much!!“
“This review is for take out only and it is during the soft opening. 1) food came quickly, it was a good temperature although too many little packets for veggies and hot sauce. An option to combine would be nice. 2) we ordered hummus, 2 lamb dishes 1 chicken breast. The lamb was good, did it shine from other lamb? Not really but still tasty and nice to have something in the neighbourhood other than Greek. The breast was moist and tasty. The hummus was tasty and not overwhelming with garlic. I like a little thicker, more tahini but I would order it again. The dishes came with rice with almonds and it was excellent. The hummus came with pita, which was thin and a style I like but the pita on counter was fresher. I honestly was not sure what to expect. The only other Yemeni food I have had was in, dare I say, Israel and stylistically it was similar and may have come from a different tradition. I look forward to trying the restaurant in house. I am particularly interested in the lentil soup and fava bean stew.“
“I have recommended Superbaba to friends, family and neighbours, and my carnivore boyfriend loves their offerings just as much as my flexitarian self. We've have the beef kofta, the chicken shawarma, and I never leave here without an order of crispy eggplant or falafel either in bowl, wrap or as an extra side to a dish. Economically priced and always busy, so food is hot and fresh.“
“Austin is THE MAN!!! He always hooks us up with the best food and huge portions. Food is of superb quality and always perfect and affordable! Falafel is my fav! Huge variety of homemade salads and sauces. Great food, great people, great vibes, staff remembers you too! 10/10 best spot for Mediterranean food in Van. Check it out cause you won’t be disappointed- this is authentic!!!“
“Nice shawarma joint with tons of toppings and freshly shaved meat from the spit. Friendly owner and generous portions.I tried the chicken shawarma platter which was both filling and didn't feal greasy or unhealthy.Vegetarian options: Falafel“
“The prices are reasonable and the food is unique and quite good. The chicken shawarma meat was not the most delicious I have tasted, but the basra/kabsa rice and the house Homa soup was absolutely delicious. My barber is near here and I have walked by it a lot. Finally ordered through Uber Eats. It was nice. Generous portions. I would recommend the non-saffron rice option. I believe it was called basra or kabsa rice. The falafel was also very good. The soup was like a meat broth with some noodles and herbs. Really hearty and delicious. Really hit the spot.Vegetarian options: Falafel, salad, rice, hummus“
“Great ambience and live music. We had the tasting/all you can eat dinner and they were so Delicious. It was fun to be able to try various different food items. Fun to eat. Enjoyable. Definitely would come back again. Service was excellent - all the staff were very polite and pleasant. The only thing was if they had more staff on a Saturday night dinner time would be great especially the menu involves topping up the all you can eat items. Excellent restaurant.“
“This place is incredible!! The chicken wrap and the falafel wrap were amazing, the best I've had on the west coast, maybe the best I've had anywhere ever. I was super satisfied with my food and it was for a great price. The people who work the shop are also lovely.“
“This is by far some of the best food in Vancouver. The staff here is awesome and I have literally eaten here almost everyday some weeks. Fresh, consistent, delicious flavors, the meat is never dry and the portions are extremely generous. I always recommend!!!!“
“Had a chicken doner here last weekend and it was so delicious! Ample amount of food but what really made it were the fresh and flavourful ingredients and sauces and the kind staff. It was busy with folks coming in and sitting, very clean and calm atmosphere. Really appreciated that the fellow who made our lunch, genuinely asked how it was once we started eating. Was very sweet! They also have a unique and large selection of sodas. New favourite lunch spot!Vegetarian options: Lots of fresh veggies! And falafel options.“
“We came here for my wife’s birthday. I wanted to try someplace new and it was very highly rated. From the name you think it would be an English pub but it has Middle Eastern cuisine. We shared Baba Ganoush as a starter which was yummy! Our youngest son had the chicken wings special with blue cheese dip. He thought it was tasty. Our older son had a cheddar bacon beef burger and a Finch & Barley Lager. I had a Lamb Burger which was lovely and Bricker cider. My wife had a prawn taco and Poplar Grove 9oz glass of wine which she enjoyed. The place had a nice atmosphere. The food and service were great! We would eat here again!“
“I’m a fan of shawarma platters. Also a fan of small businesses. I had the chicken shawarma.Different from other places they do not put hummus or fried potatoes.Instead they have a Greek potato and a thick tzatziki.A lighter gentler take on shawarma.“
“We had to wait for a seat since we were a larger group but we did get seated very quickly by the friendly staff. Our waiter was cute (Filipe) and friendly. Food was excellent and the staff always had our glasses filled. Certainly be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“We ordered Best Falafel through Skip the Dishes and in addition to our order (which was delicious), they gave us a scarf to help protect us in times of COVID19. Such a sweet sentiment and a way to show support to those supporting you - thank you Best Falafel ♥️“
“Came from out of town, was looking for Mediterranean style food and I saw this place on google maps. If you want to eat something different you should buy the Shakshuka plate. Also the Falafel is amazing. The place is a bit hidden inside a building, but it is still in the ground floor as soon as you enter in the corner of Oak and 41st av.Coffee is really good, they use amazing beans from Milano coffee roasters.“
“For those who love and know authentic Lebanese cuisine, this is by far the best that has to offer. If you are looking for real taste of lebanon, stop looking this is the place! and I know what I am saying. You will not be disappointed. I would not go to impress but surely for good food!“
“Came here after a long day of classes from Langaroo!Amazing food!! I could smell the deliciousness coming from outside the cafe!!!The lady working here was very kind and recommended that I get one of the plates for dinner :)I ordered for dine-in, but they package the food in plastic containers regardless. I chose to take it home to eat LOL!Vegetarian options: Falafel is vegetarian! There were also vegetarian side dishes too :3“
“By far, these freshly made falafels are the best I have ever tasted in my, not so short, 50 years of life. The vegetarian plate is chock full of gorgeous flavours, from the smooth and perfectly balanced hummus to the crunchy on the outside, soft and delicate on the inside falafel. The lemon roasted potatoes are exquisite. Even the rice has an impressive aroma and perfectly spiced melody for your palate. If you love Mediterranean food, you will love this place. Could not recommend more.“
“We’ve walked past this small café every year when we visit Vancouver, but decided only this year to try it. Great food - my spouse had the chicken shawerma plate. I had the roast lamb plate - tender & succulent meat that falls off the bone, with salad, rice, & potatoes. Great value for a wonderful meal, with friendly service! We’ll make this a regular stop in the future.“
“I go to Ofra's kitchen quite often, and I have never had a bad experience. What is really sad is that most of the recent bad reviews are not directed at the quality of food or dining experience, but are directly related to what is going on in the Middle East. The restaurant is being attacked simply because the owner is Israeli and Jewish. I will continue to go to Ofra's kitchen in support of her restaurant, and leave politics behind.“
“Falafel Aladdin Café is a delightful spot for those craving authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. The falafel here is absolutely top-notch - perfectly crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make dining here a truly enjoyable experience. Whether you're a falafel fan or simply want to explore Middle Eastern flavors, Falafel Aladdin Café is definitely worth a visit.“
“Authentic and family owned in a nice location. I tried their wrap once when I was working nearby, it was decent, quite filling for the price. Today I ordered delivery from them and it was delicious! I had falafel doner platter, Greek salad, and 2 for 5$ Spanakopitas, which were huge!! Everything was so tasty, and very reasonably priced.“
“They might have the best service I've ever seen in any restaurant, and it's consistently good every time I come, both to me and all the guests who come in.And the food absolutely makes it worthwhile. Of all things, my favourite is the poutine with chicken. It's a full meal on its own, and it's one of the best I've had anywhere. But the plates are really good too, and filling.Totally worth the time!“
