“Super yummy food, looking for a new Thai place and this is going to be it. Crab fried rice delicious, chicken pad Thai was authentic, fresh spring rolls was super fresh, and the papaya salad had great textures. Friendly staff, an all round great experience. Will definitely be frequenting this place often“
“The server was very kind and helpful with my dish modifications to make the dishes vegan (no oyster sauce, no fish sauce, no shrimp paste) and suggested using soy sauce instead which was very kind. They also asked me if I could have milk in my Thai tea which I thought was so considerate. When I told them no, I couldn't have milk, they offered to put coconut milk in the Thai tea instead and it was SO DELICIOUS! The fresh rolls were also great. All of the other dishes were very tasty too, we got yellow curry, the stir fried eggplant dish, and the pra ram all modified and they were very good. I really appreciated how thoughtful and helpful this place was to make sure I was eating everything okay for my diet! I would highly recommend this place to anyone else who is vegan or has vegan family members/friends, this place is very accommodating and tastes delicious!“

“Friendly staff and lovely seating interior. Food was delicious with good wok fire. The sizzling seafood plate was flavorful and went well with jasmine rice. The red duck curry was delicious with sticky rice. Coconut pad Thai was very satisfying and great portion. I saw lots of take out orders getting delivered every several minutes at dinner time. Glad to find out about this restaurant as it stays open till 10 pm. Easy parking in its own lot. I will come back to try other dishes.“

“I order the pumpkin curry. It was delicious. I also ordered the Tom Ka chicken soup. It was too tart, the chicken over cooked. A disappointment for a soup I usually love“
“Our neighborhood finally has a new gem of a restaurant! Everything about this spot is wonderful. The attention to detail in the decor (cozy fireplace, exposed brick, distressed woodwork, leaf-shaped cushions, gold silverware, plants galore) is transportive. The food is ravishingly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. On two different visits, we shared Market Salads, Chia Bowls, Yogurt Bowls, and Lava Eggs. Tanzie, the owner, is delightful, and you can tell she has a hand in every dish. My 8-year-old, who is a very picky eater, loved the yogurt bowl, eggs, and especially the Thai Beignets! Finally, a brunch I can look forward to, a few steps from my house...“

“Very delicious! Authentic taste! Took me back to Thailand in an instant! We ordered spicy pork liver salad, spicy beef salad, fried fish cakes, Esan sausages, dried tomyum noodles, pork skewers, sticky rice. Spicy pork liver salad was so tasty. Soft, creamy and super rich! Highly recommended to anyone who wants to try authentic and hard to find Thai cuisine. Paired super well with sticky rice. 10 out of 10! Spicy beef salad was also great but shine less bright than the spicy pork liver salad. 9 out of 10! Dried tomyum noodles, was very good as well. Not as authentic, but very hard to find evnen in the Bay Area. 8.5 out of 10. Fried fish cakes, esan sausages, were ok. The pork skewers weren't so impressive. Too big, too Americanized for its own good. Staffs were friendly, and the restaurant is cozy with retro 1960ish theme decor. *We ordered so many dishes but it was so good that I forgot to take pictures.“

“We ordered several items, pad Thai, pad see eew and papaya salad. All the items were delicious. The papaya salad was authentic as they come. This establishment has been around for decades and for good reasons. The service is super friendly. This is definitely a place for friends and families. It is also clean and spacious. There are street parking and also a parking lot in the back. In addition to the food, we also ordered the Thai ice tea and the ice coffee. They were also very delicious. Overall, we highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!“

“So happy we got to be one of the first customers to ever eat at this new Thai restaurant. The place inside is pretty small, but the decor is cute & simple. They make the most of the room by putting as many small tables that fit with seating mostly for tables of two or four. We were literally the second table to ever eat in this new spot. And wow, am I glad I decided to search Yelp today for lunch. The service was super sweet, friendly, and perfect. We had a hard time deciding on what to try first (because everything sounded good and the smells from the kitchen were amazing). What we ordered: - Tom Kha Soup with Chicken Excellently flavors and just enough spice for me. My spouse loves really spicy dishes and said it would be delicious with more spiciness, but thought the broth was so good that it didn’t even need to change. We actually just wish there was an option to order a larger size, it was that good! Sometimes my spouse like to just have soup as the entree. - Green Curry with Chicken (comes with rice) Wow! Super bright and fresh taste! Smells really good and tastes even better. It was very fresh and loved all the vegetables inside (eggplant soaked up all the delicious flavor just right, baby corn- yum, etc.). - Pad Cashew Nut with Pork (comes with rice) AMAZING. Mouth-wateringly delicious. I did not want the dish to end. It was the perfect amount of flavor and freshness. Loved the cashews, the carrots, the onions, the cilantro on top. Perfect combination of sweet & salty sauce with nuttiness from the cashews, enhanced by the onion, carrot, cilantro. Since it was their first day, we enjoyed free beverages. The Thai tea was so good- you can get oat milk for $1 more. The Black Mango Iced Tea was also delicious and you get refills on it. I cannot wait to go back and eat every dish. Since it was their first hour open, we were there when the Doordash photographer came to snap pictures of all the dishes. WOW! We were eyeing the Lobster Ravioli and honestly it looks too good to miss. So we’ll probably be back later this week to try it and more. Congratulations on your opening. Thank you for bringing delicious Thai food to the area. We just moved up here from San Diego, and we’ve been having a hard time finding true Thai food and flavors. Many of the Thai places we’ve eaten up up here lack flavor or are just different because they’re fused with Laotian dishes or another type of cuisine. Finely we found a great Thai places we can walk to from the University Village apartments. See you soon!“

“Our dining experience at Bangkok Garden last evening was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted by the warm smiles of the staff. They promptly escorted us to our table, where our orders were taken and served with remarkable efficiency. Accompanied by our two young children, who were exceptionally well-catered to, we indulged in a variety of dishes. The grilled chicken satay and the fresh spring rolls were the stars of the evening. It's certain that we will be returning for another memorable meal. Bangkok Garden comes highly recommended!“

“Had dinner here Saturday, and the entire experience was phenomenal. We were a party of 4, with two wheelchair users -- we didn't have a reservation, but were given friendly accommodation, willingly assisting us with rearranging seating to work for us. Dinner for the 4 of us was extremely reasonably priced. My wife and I ordered the "Deluxe Set," which is quite honestly a steal. Super delicious, and we had about half of our food travel back with us to Sacramento and become yesterday's leftovers for brunch. (Do not sleep on the Deluxe Set!!)“

“Many Thai restaurants run into the problem of being too similar to each other, but Secrets of Tiger offers a wide array of unique dishes that have Japanese and Thai characteristics without sacrificing on also delivering on classic Thai dishes. I love the coziness of the place and the staff are very attentive with both service at the table and care for the food. Definitely a great place for all meals of the day!“

“I ordered a chicken pad kea mao (drunken noodles) and it was really good although… they gave me pork instead of chicken. And I didn’t know about that until they came over to the table with the plate that had chicken. Thankfully I am able to eat pork but… be careful if you are not— ask twice to make sure you get the right dish. Otherwise, they were very accommodating to our very large group.“

“I walked into a nice restaurant decorated in with Thai art, classy cocktail music, and a smiling white with a ponytail. He asked me what I wanted for a drink, so I asked for my favorite drink, Thai ice coffee. The delicious iced coffee came very quickly in a canning jar with handles. My order of three lunch specials was cooked and served very quickly. For most people, ordering one lunch special is enough, but I wanted to try their food in a big way. Only then can you experience the chef's cuisine. Also, I'm babysitting a cat here in Orinda for nine days, so I haven't wanted to cook if i can order enough to eat delicious leftovers. What a pleasant surprise, the food, atmosphere, and the three dishes, were quite fresh and delicious. The Pad Thai, which I ordered with chicken, was very nice, I had delicately seasoned noodles, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, green onions, fried tofu, fried eggs, bean sprouts, and finely chopped peanuts. For an extra $2, you can get the egg roll and salad, but I already had those with the two other lunch specials. The #6 Peanut Prawns, which were deep fried in a light batter, came with peanut curry sauce over a bed of spinach in a bowl, served with slices of orange, a crunchy Noodle salad, rice and a fried vegetarian Thai egg roll. Delicious! The prawns were a decent size, and quite tasty. My last dish was #12, Garlic Pepper Calamari, with onions, zucchini, mushrooms, green onions, fried noodles, were served with the sliced oranges, plus a noodles salad with carrots, cucumber, red cabbage, and shredded iceberg lettuce, deep fried noodles, were crunchy and fresh with a light dressing. Overall, the food was quite superb, my mom lived in Bangkok for fourteen years, so I know how to appreciate Thai food. I will definitely come here again if I'm visiting the area again.“

“The lunch special was great. It came with your choice of appetizer, main dish and a soda drink, and for $2 more you can upgrade to the Thai tea. The food was good, especially the curry, I ordered it vegetarian style, and they added plenty of vegetables. The cozy ambiance made it perfect for a quick lunch, and I particularly admired the beautifully decorated bathroom - a unique touch! I'd suggest bringing some of that charm into the dining area. The 20% discount was a pleasant surprise, and the staff were exceptionally polite and efficient. While I prefer my Thai teas a bit sweeter, I still found this place to be a fantastic dining spot overall!“

“Nice, located of Willow shopping center. Several eateries nearby including a drive in Starbucks. I looked around and decided to go for the Won Thai restaurant, ordered the lunch special, fried catfish with rice, on the plate I got a colorful plate with a scoop of steam rice next to pan fried filet of catfish with plenty of green beans, fresh tomato pieces, sautéed on a lite curry sauce and sliced purple and green cabbage garnish.“

“On my way home from church, I searched Yelp for Thai restaurants in the area. Yelp gps took me to this place and I'm glad to have found it. I was pleasantly surprised they offer lunch special on weekends - it was the best choice for me as I was dining alone. I got the lunch special plate of grilled chicken with peanut sauce over brown rice, veggies and salad. Such a generous delicious serving. I would have preferred the peanut sauce served on the side but I failed to ask. The tangy & sweet salad compliments the chicken with peanut sauce very well. Their Thai iced tea wasn't too sweet which is perfect. I got the fried banana with coconut ice cream for dessert. Bananas rolled in brown sugar served with a bit of honey. So crunchy! Perfect dessert for me as I love fried bananas! Ice cream was so creamy. Take note coconut ice cream doesn't have a strong taste, it's a bit bland if you're used to American ice cream. Serving is good for 2 or 3 people. The place is divided into two sections. It's nice and clean inside. Service is prompt and friendly. Very warm Asian ladies providing service with a smile. I'll be back!“

“Bangkok Thai Cuisine: A Delicious Trip to ThailandI recently had a fantastic meal at Bangkok Thai Cuisine, and it was a delightful trip to Thailand without leaving town! The Pad Thai was a real standout. It wasn't just delicious, it was perfectly balanced. The sweet, savory, and just a hint of spice all played together beautifully. Every bite was a flavor party in my mouth! The veggie rolls were another winner. They were incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. The crispy lettuce gave way to a delightful filling making for a satisfying and light starter.Overall, Bangkok Thai Cuisine impressed me. The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic-tasting. While I can't speak to the entire menu, both the Pad Thai and veggie rolls were fantastic. If you're looking for a delicious and affordable Thai dining experience, I highly recommend giving them a try!“

“Do not sleep on this place. I have been to a lot of brunch spots and THIS PLACE WAS DELICIOUS. Since it's a Wednesday and we came right when it opened it was just us, so obviously fast and good service. We ordered the Crispy Thai Tea French Toast and they had a lunch combo menu where you could choose an appetizer, entree, and drink for $19.99. I opted for this option and the Pad Kee Mao and Spring Rolls were soo good. Other reviews have mentioned the Thai Tea French Toast was too sweet, but it didn't bother us, we thought the sweetness was fine! I will definitely come back again for brunch“

“This was a chance find, but they impressed us, and i cannot say enough good things about the food. We stopped here while trying to find another place, it looked like a good hole in the wall. What drew us here was it was full, even early in the evening - took it as a good sign. The service was prompt, and the food was yummy. The place is small and you can hear almost all the tables, but i was lost in the food anyways :)“

“Enjoyed a fantastic meal for the price! ? Opted for the red curry special on the lunch menu—unique presentation over a bed of rice. Personally, I'd prefer the curry separate from the rice because serving it on top of the rice makes it so that the rice absorbs the sauce. Pad see ew was tasty, but a bit more noodle would've been perfect. When the check came, the waitress gave me a beautifully presented dessert ? which was tasty. Two dishes for less than $20! It was a great deal and a delicious lunch.Loved the second-story setting with a street view. It was chilly inside on a cold day, but overall, a satisfying experience.“

“We had a wonderful lunch here. The crab fried rice and egg noodles with duck were delicious! The average dish is $12-15. “This is my go to place in the neighborhood for good Thai food - it's fast, affordable, and delicious! The staff are super sweet and make sure you get exactly what you want. We've eaten here countless times, both in person and carry out - pictured is pad Thai and suki yaki soup, but our other favorites include Panang curry, avocado salad, Tom kha soup, and chicken satay. They also have great Thai tea that's not overly sweet. I'm honestly surprised by the negative reviews. I think some folks might not like it because it's not super Americanized versions of dishes and the interior is not the most glamorous. Don't let that dissuade you, this place and it's owners are great!!“

“This place has closed, marking the end of an era for me. I used to frequent the SF location in Union Square, which closed in 2015. I was delighted to discover the Berkeley location. Their prices were reasonable, and the combination beef noodle soup was delicious. The pad kee mao was exceptionally tasty and fragrant, and they would make it extra spicy for me. The last time I was there, the server informed me that they were closing on 3/21/24. I am now on the lookout for a new Thai restaurant that serves this style of Thai cuisine. The store seemed a bit empty over the last year or two, but it's still saddening to see them close.“

“Came here on a Thursday evening and it was pretty empty. We got the angel wings as an appetizer since stuffed wings seemed like an interesting concept. They were pretty good. I also got the Kao Soi as my main dish which is my go to at Thai places. I didn't love the initial sweetness in taste (the spicier flavors came as an aftertaste) but it was still pretty solid. Overall, I would return.“

“Passing through Emeryville on an Amtrak stop I found great reviews of this place and decided to check it out. What a find! As a lover of Thai food, I can heartily recommend SSTE to anyone looking for a great Thai meal. I tried the Ribeye Steak Panang with a Thai Iced Tea for lunch and both were excellent. The steak was perfectly grilled (and the peas and green beans in the panang curry were actually fresh!) The portion was so generous I got to take some home to the hotel to finish up later (and it still tasted good...:-) The atmosphere was cozy and Tanawat was a great host. If I'm ever back in Emeryville this is the first place I'll be sure to come back to.“

“Love this family owned restaurant! I've been coming here for years, and they never disappoint. They are consistent and tasty. Every single dish. I fully support this restaurant. I use to live close and went at least one a week now I'm 45 minutes out & wishing they had one closer to me cause I have to drive a good 45 minutes to get here but I gladly do it when I can. Prices have gone up, but that is to be expected. They are still delicious, so it's totally worth it ?“
