“Last August, I visited Camp Angel and Murphys with 4 friends, I discovered this little wine bar, and my fellow traveler said he could drive for me, so I had a cup of beer, it tasted so beautiful. So it was so much fun to find this unforgettable place on my map a year later...”

“We found Pablo's Basecamp at the end of Murphy's Main St. on a cold winters eve and it seemed like just the right time to share a burrito with my husband. Yes share, bc it was huge and for the amazing price of $10, and that was the supreme (with avacado & sour cream). The burrito was delicious, the staff super friendly and what a quaint atmosphere with the lights and Holiday feel.”
“Loved the experience and they had a good selection of reds. Would highly recommend visiting this place. Had a good laugh with the owner of the winery. Beautiful soul and his stories were great ?❤️ do visit if you are in town.”

“Love Gyro's, so had to give it a try! Our party of four walked in and were seated right away. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu. The food was incredible and the gyro did not disappoint the restaurant was not very busy, but I'm hoping more people will try. The place was clean and very nice decor. Could be a little warmer inside, but I will be back to try other menu items.”

“Decided to spend a couple hours in Murphys because it's such a cute area for wine tasting. I had never been to Tuscanos but my friend had raved about it so I thought I'd give it a try. The appetizers were surprisingly tasty. How much can you expect from chicken wings, calamari and bruschetta? The chicken wings were covered in this tangy/garlicky sauce that just punched your mouth with flavor. They're definitely finger licking good. One order was not enough for four hungry adults. The bruschetta was light, refreshing and flavorful; and the calamari was thankfully not soggy or tasteless which can easily happen. The Caesar salad was good, I certainly finished it, but I cannot tell if I ate it all because I was soo hungry or because it was so good nonetheless it satisfied my craving. The Philly sandwich unfortunately lacked seasoning and the pasta was good but nothing spectacular. The service was great, seemed like there were only two ladies working the whole restaurant and they managed to do an excellent job.”
“Great wines and times. The tasting room is warm and cozy. You will enjoy the atmosphere and the friendly people that work here. I highly recommend this place as one to visit while in Murphys. We will be back!”
“We visited on 3/21/24, had lunch on the deck and enjoyed the spectacular flowers.Lunch was a bit pricey and unremarkable, but we weren't there for the food. :-)”
“First time here. What a charming little tasting room on main street in Murphy. When we walked past, quite a few folks were tasting, so we popped in. "Cool Karen" was the server and she made our experience. We had the "pick 3 for $15" and it was so much fun. My friend and I were both very intrigued by the presentation of this tasting. A special vessel / holder was used for the 3 glasses, which was then put on a diagram (paper) so we knew exactly which wine was which. We didn't end up buying any but had a lovely time sipping away. If in the area, give it a try. I shall add, it's a very intimate experience as the tasting room is quite small, but fun.”
“The Tasting room is underground, easy to find off main street. The natural rock walls make it a cool cave. We bought a red & white wine for gifts. Lucky for us, Todd's local sourdough bread was delivered there fresh, so we bought 3 loaves. We had never tried it before but heard it was the best. I agree! The staff was very knowledgeable, the owner I think. We were very pleased with our purchases & will be back when we have more time to try all the wines”

“Some restaurants balk when a large group rolls in. We showed up at just before they transitioned to a dinner service, but recieved excellent service none the less. The staff was amazing and went to great lengths to accommodate special diets in our group. Everyone said the food was delicious, and the desserts were also fantastic.I doubt I'll be back in Murphy any time soon, but if I am, I'll be sure to stop by again.Dietary restrictions: Staff went out of their way to make sure a dish could be made Gluten Free. They also were willing to accommodate a picky eater. There were several vegetarian options as well, including a veggie burger that was "much meatier than I expected".”

“Wonderful spot in a wonderful town (shhh... don't tell anyone about Murphys CA). Grounds consistently serves fresh, tasty, well-prepared California cuisine at good prices. I especially enjoyed the crab cakes appetizer (massive and chock-full of actual crab) and their burgers are on-point too. Great locally focused wine list and very classy cocktails. Their sister restaurant, Firewood, dishes out more casual fare and our kids love the pizza there.”

“The food was delicious, and the wait staff attentive and helpful. Their pho is truly outstanding. Their broth is the most flavorful I’ve ever tried. Everything was delicious though, and their walnut shrimp had the most perfectly steamed broccoli I’ve ever had.”
“Fantastic wines, wonderful people and cool hats! After a few days of exploring the cool little town of Murphy’s and numerous wine tasting stops, we fell in love with La Folia Winery. The shop on Main Street is a fantastic spot for great wines, amazing people and a bunch of nice hats. Our hostess Shannon was fabulous and fun, made us feel right at home. We are now members of their wine club and look forward to many more visits to La Folia and the Murphy’s area.Mark ElledgeAug 2023”

“The food was very good and there was plenty. We were the first ones in, so the help was still getting and putting things out. It was a cool day but the restaurant was colder, knowing that they opened the back door to allow the warmer air to come in, that helped.Parking: It's Murphy's, street parking is a bummer on weekends but there's plenty of parking in the back street.”

“Not only was the iced mocha latte delicious, we were greeted with great customer service. Since we were visiting the area, Shawnee was able to give us amazing recommendations on places to try and visit. She was super friendly and extra helpful. Would definitely recommend if you're in to good coffee!!”
“This bread is awesome! The crust is perfectly crunchy and the bread is slightly spongy and soft. Was worried the "very sour" would be to sour but nope- It was perfect. Hope we can get this in SF.”

“Super friendly place. Drive thru. Good coffee. They were out of tons of stuff. We asked for 4 different food items and they were out. The staff was very nice and we ended up with tasty bagels and basic cream cheese. I would love to see some fancier cheese/bagel options in the future. If that little place can hold that up!”

“A perfect pub. Live music, lively service, and nachos. We came in for our second stop in Murphy's. They had all the drink info on the wall, a nice big food menu, and plenty of seating. The bartender who's name maybe Nick? Made us feel right at home. He was a step ahead of our needs the whole time as we sat at the bar and took over for an hour. We laughed and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I would consider that first class service. Ritz level, deep into Calaveras. Will be back for a stouty pint.”

“It's a great place to get some breakfast. Nothing fancy but hot and simply. The food was good but not over the top delicious. The service was good but not fast. Definitely need extra help. We went around 10-10:30 am. On a Thursday morning, it seemed pretty busy for 1 waitress. We tried the chilly, pancakes with eggs and bacon, the breakfast sandwich.”

“This was our first time visiting this great town. We looked for a place to eat a good dinner and liked the look of this place. Once inside, we were greeted by Kelly. She sat us and we had a drink in our hand very shortly. The menu had quite a splendid selection and we Ordered a few entrees. Each choice was so tasty we ordered a few more to try. Kelly worked her tail off to keep us satisfied and we were. We recommend everyone stop by and dine there as well! Thank you Kelly and the staff! We'll be back!!”

“Just ate here for lunch. It's really surprising to have such good Mexican food in this area. We ordered the super burrito, super nachos, and mocajete with 2 mango margaritas and michalada mix with modello. Service was good, and they have outdoor seating that I wish we could've taken advantage of, especially on the sunny day. Indoor seating is plenty and clean. The molcajete is a MUST! It reminded us of our Cabo vacation, but better... Their al pastor meat is seasoned just as good as Mexico that we remember.”

“We were coming back from Big Trees and went there for a late lunch. We had read about it online. Two of us had the Baja fish tacos, one of us had the Tanale meal and the other had the Burrito bowl. It was fantastic. Will come back.”
“An amazing find in Murphy's. We tried several items over two days. Great breakfast spot with super friendly staff. They are so kind. And the food was exceptional. Breakfast sandwich and a croissant. And the muffins were crazy good. It is fully worth a stop through town to get some pastries for your day in the mountains.”

“Love this place! My last visit was midweek so it was quiet in town. The owner was working that day so we got to have a great conversation. He was very knowledgeable about the champagnes in our tasting flight. Will definitely be back!”
