Sam was extremely knowledgeable and as much an educator as a host. My husband and I were thrilled with our visit and thoroughly enjoyed the grounds, the stories, the food and our journey through the history of ZD and Abacus. In short, the best wine experience we have ever had.
While spending a week in Napa, my wife and I visited a lot of great wineries with excellent wine. I found that the wines at ZD, however, may have been the best in our trip. The Pinot Noirs were exceptional and so smooth, I loved them! The winery itself is very pretty. The tasting area overlooks the vineyards which provides a great setting. If you're headed to Napa, I'd suggest adding ZD Wines to the list of wineries to visit. I'm glad we did!

There are times in life when you just need to step back and reflect on an experience that seems like a normal occurrence when in reality it was indeed a special event. Being able to take in two special but distinctive wineries was learning experience and appreciation of what really good vineyards accomplish.
